"I can't say enough about them. They are an outstanding outfit. They do a ten year warranty on their work. I have an area of peeling of the wood, and they are going to take care of it. Some sun damaged. Its old wood."

"We worked with Ali (sales manager) and Tony (project manager), who took the time to design a project that made sense for our property and our budget, made a number of suggestions and recommendations and were never pushy or tried to "sell" us on something. The crew really went above and beyond to provide top quality workmanship and overall we were in very good hands. Highly recommended!"

"I have worked with these guys for quite some time and they had done several jobs from drywall replacement and painting to plastering. They are very all inclusive painting experts, they do inside and outside. They are great with stains, they have painted my garage doors and fences. I use them for everything. Luis is the owner and that is who I always work with, I have worked with him on 2-3 homes since 2002. From 100 year old homes to modern homes. He is easy to work with, gets the job done right, knows to ask the right questions. His people are very prompt and respectful, they always clean up after themselves."

"Frank Martinez driving through neighborhood & saw me cutting back plants in front yard. Pausing to ask If I need help, I said yes (don't own hedge trimmer needed). Frank shared he was working on floor tile at nearby house, so I quickly showed him our 10-year-old flooring with gaps & cracks. Due to both our previous commitments, scheduling days at first was hard. But he was readily responsive to cell phone calls and texts. The difference in our floor tile for little expense is amazing."

"I was planning to put solar panels on my roof, so needed a roof inspection. I wanted to make sure my roof would last at least 10 more years. I selected several companies and A-1 Budget roofing responded promptly and had a good price. I found out that my existing roofing felt (tar paper) was worn and needed replacing, but my tile was in good shape and could be reused.
First, I had my roof tile cleaned to remove algae.
Then A-1 Budget roofing scheduled the work around the rain, and coordinated the installation with the solar panel company. They removed and stacked the old tile on my roof, removed the old roofing felt and replaced with two layers of 40 pound felt. They had the solar company place their brackets on the roof so they could properly seal them before they completed the re-roofing. This took several days to complete, but all was done before the rain.
They also removed some very old bird nests that were tucked under the eaves, and put up bird stop to keep those birds from nesting again. They replaced some flashing as needed and some broken tile, and when they were done all of the color matched perfectly.
The original bid was for $8500 and he had to check on permit fees from the city. The final invoice included the original $8500, minor costs of $64 for new fascia board, and $380 for roofing permit.
My new roof is warranted for 10 years, but they told me it should last another 40 - 50 years with two layers of 40 pound felt.

"Nice guys and they work hard.  Pay the extra $90 for spraying instead of rolling.  It  takes at least a half day off the time, so the $ is made up and it looks cleaner.  I had Ronny hand painting trim and Carlos spraying.  2 colors, house/trim/front railing.
The only confusion was who was supplying what.  I was told just paint and asked them to let me know if they needed anything besides paint.  The deal was for prepping, painting, filling cracks, small repair.  The first day, they came with all but tape and asked me for some.  Luckily I had some.  the second day I had them spray and they asked me for paper, tape and rollers.  Just call Carlos before they come and confirm they are bringing supplies or figure it out up front.  This was my mistake.
Only things I didn't like.  I said they could use my "new" garden hose and they left paint all over the 1st 3 feet where their hands held it.  Also, they used my ladder without asking and there is now paint splatter on it.  I can deal with this, but again, wish we would confirm they bring their own equipment up front.
All and all, they did a great job, worked hard and were professional.  Jesus came out each day to check in with the guys and make sure I was happy.  This was a nice touch and the house looks fantastic!

"The work that Dave’s company performed was great with the exception of the living room, that ended up being mid-matched. Dave’s crew let me know that because of this they would paint the whole living room. They asked me to call and set up an appointment and I did. The day came and nobody showed up. I called Denise and she stated her crew called in sick and they were leaving town the next day. She would have Dave call me. He didn’t, so I txt him the following week and he called and said it would be more money, which it shouldn’t as I was previously told they mid-matched it so they would make it right. He was supposed to call later in the week and never did. I find though everyone was nice, the professionalism was lacking. I would not use again because of this."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. Storing wood stain in open containers or in extremely low or high temperatures will cause your wood stain to become unusable much more quickly. Water- and latex-based wood stains typically last for just two to four years, while oil-based wood stains can last for three to six years.

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. Generally, two coats is the maximum you should do, although very dense hardwoods may only be able to take a single coat.

Yes, it is important to wash your deck before painting to ensure the paint applies well and adheres properly. While you don't have to use a pressure washer, it is one of the most efficient cleaning methods. Pressure washing can quickly remove dirt, wood fibers, and flaked paint, getting deeper into the wood than manual scrubbing. You can also clean the deck with a stiff broom and a cleaning solution. Regardless of the method, a clean surface is essential for good paint adhesion. Make sure the deck is completely dry before applying any paint.

The best temperature to paint a pool deck is between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, because many paints and sealers require temperatures warm enough for the chemical reaction to take place for proper curing. The paint should not be allowed to freeze, and temperatures above 90 degrees can cause the paint to dry too quickly, also preventing the chemical reaction from following through to completion.
