"We were extremely pleased with all the work JCR Tile did for us. We hired them to do a stacked stone floor to ceiling surround for our fireplace, the backsplash in our kitchen and installing quartz countertops. All the work was exceptional. Gorge and Susana communicated throughout the project and exceeded our timeline. We'll hire them again when we redo our bathrooms."

"I wish there was more stars to give Bernd! He is an absolute pro at tile installation! Bernd tiled our entire condo as well as our outdoor patio space which require quite a bit of leveling. He is thoughtful about design, very detailed, and has a meticulous hand with his cuts. He will be tiling our kitchen backsplash as well when the materials arrive. He's also super pleasant to work with, very communicative, & he is totally fair and honest in pricing. I can't say enough good things about his work ethic, skill and integrity. Hire this man and you will not be disappointed!! He's a rare gem out there, an expert at what he does and a wonderful human!"

"Perfect!!! We originally d to repaint the whole house. Since that was out of our budget, we asked Tony to touch up our walls. When he finished, it looked like we had brand-new walls!!! Although it's the same beige color we already had, they look spectacular!!! He did the whole house in about 6hrs."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

The best paints for shower tiles include epoxy, latex, or acrylic. Ideally, you should look for paints that are waterproof and mildew-resistant if you plan to paint shower or other bathroom tiles. You can even find waterproof paints made specifically for tiled surfaces, which will be the best option for shower tile paint that lasts as long as possible.

Yes, tile floor removal is a physically demanding project that takes between eight and 12 hours per 100 square feet. It also requires protective gear and closing the area off with construction-grade plastic sheeting to avoid dust and damage to other parts of your home.

Removing old tiles can be more complicated, but it can also be more manageable, depending on your circumstances. Typically, old tile is hard to remove because the adhesive had loads of time to bond with your wall, becoming a formidable foe between you and your new tile installation project. On the other hand, old tile in high-traffic areas can become loose, making it much easier to remove.

Regardless of the material, basic square tiles will never go out of style. Neutral colors like white, grey, beige, and black will always be in demand in residential and commercial settings. Certain designs, like herringbone and hexagonal patterns, are considered timeless. Porcelain and porcelain-like tiles will also never go out of style.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.
