"As a proud resident and home owner in Chula Vista, itâ s important for me to support and utilize local Chula Vista businesses.  I came across Fausto Construction on Houzz.  I hired him to transform a closet to a kitchenette. Fausto Construction did not disappoint. I appreciated his cost savings options, his recommendations and eye for contemporary design was right on.  Saul was flexible and easy to work with, he kept communication lines open. Everything was done in a professional, time efficient manner. I already have him lined up for additional home projects."

"Ryan, the owner and project manager, was extremely responsive and great at communicating with me for all the work throughout the entire project. The price was fair and the work was on time, on budget and of high quality. I'm reasonably knowledgeable about the construction of a deck, and so was able to get a very detailed estimate and plan together by collaborating with Ryan at the beginning and throughout project. The nucave crew and even the subcontractors were similarly friendly; they showed up on time every day, worked hard, and cleaned up when the left. The only reason for a B rather than an A rating was that there was a bit of a SNAFU during the layout work at the beginning that led to a portion of the deck not being positioned exactly how I had wanted it, but Ryan was able to work with me to mostly resolve it and the project continued smoothly from that point forward. I would work with Ryan and Nucave again."

"Barak was punctual to our consultation appointment. He was very organized and knowledgeable about the process required for doing a room addition to our house including working with the city and SDGE. He listened to all of our questions and explained in detail what the construction process would look like. We decided not go forward with our project due to other reasons, but we really appreciated his knowledge and professionalism."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

The best way to start designing a house is to know what you want before designing. Making a list of your biggest priorities in a home will help. Designing a house without an idea of what you need or want in a home will lead to many trials and errors that could make it harder to figure out what you need in your design.

Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.

Federal architecture is most common in urban areas throughout the New England states, including the older parts of New York, Pennsylvania (namely, Boston and Philadelphia), Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The style also dominated in parts of Georgia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so many historical homes in the area embody this home design. Salem, MA, has two historic districts that predominantly feature this architectural style: Chestnut Street District and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.

Blueprints are generally available for houses built after the early 1900s. Before then, detailed building schematics like blueprints were rarely used and even more rarely saved. If you have an older house and need blueprints, you can have a new set drawn up by an architect or draftsperson.
