"He was on time--always a good sign! I had the windows done years ago, and that job was OK. James said he treated his work as an art, which turned out to be completely accurate. It's a bit strange to be saying all this about window tinting, but it's not an exaggeration. James' work was Excellent."

"Original estimate was for 2 weeks from signing but apparently delays in window delivery resulted in 5 weeks. Work was done amazingly fast in 2 days once materials were delivered. Spotless work."

"Brothers replaced every window in entire house around 6 years ago,. Excellent work! Recent (unusual) torrental rains resulted in leak in large picture window…they immediately inspected and sent a team to repair and also checked every window in the house to ensure they were okay. Windows questions, answered by experts

Window screens are available in several standard sizes. Common dimensions include 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall, as well as sizes like 18 by 14 inches and 20 by 20 inches. These often correspond to standard window sizes, such as 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall or 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Screens are also sold in replacement rolls to accommodate various dimensions. It is always best to measure your windows for accuracy before a repair or replacement. If your windows are a non-standard size, you will likely need to order custom screens, which can increase the cost. However, a screen does not necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to use a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.

Tinting your windows will make your house darker since it will prevent some sunlight from getting inside. While you can choose a window film that is on the lighter side, there will still be reduced sunlight. If natural light is important to you, tinted windows might not be the best choice for your home.

Steel windows are durable and last a long time, but not in all weather conditions. If you live near the ocean, these windows might not be the best choice, as the saltwater breeze can corrode the metal. Steel windows are also more expensive than other types of windows. However, with that high price point comes a sleek, distinctive design that many homeowners find appealing, especially for modern decor. You can also restore steel windows to get a longer lifespan from them, so they can last longer than vinyl, aluminum, and even wood.

On average, replacing your windows can cost anywhere from $180 to $410, which breaks down to an average of $280 per window. It all depends on the size of the window you’re installing and the frame and glass that you choose. Other things a contractor might take into consideration are the age of your home, the condition of the walls, and where you’re installing the windows.

It is legal to put bars on windows in most places, but it depends on the type of bars you choose and the regulations in your area. For example, there are building codes in Mississippi, California, and Texas that forbid the use of permanently closed burglar bars on windows due to concerns about people getting trapped inside during fires.
