"We decided to try GZL Painting to paint the Exterior of our home and Wow!! They did an AMAZING job and my wife & I are super excited how nice our house turned out.. Adam the owner and his crew was very professional, respectful, Nice to chat with and they paid close attention to all the details and our concerns. The wife was sooo pleased with how accommodating the guys were and how safe n clean they kept the areas around the perimeters. We have a blind little Shih Tzu and the guys were very aware of her and never grew impatient with her and my wife while they worked. Great Service with reasonable prices . Thx GZL Painting!!! "I highly recommend Golden 1 Lath & Plaster for any stucco repair. They arrived on time, were extremely polite and answered all my questions, and then proceeded to prepare the area to be fixed. Andres was like an artist working on the repair. When finished we could not tell where the damage was. Excellent repair, excellent cleanup and done at a very reasonable cost. I would use them again if I have the need."

"Edgar was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He did an amazing job and matched our existing Stucco perfectly. We will be having him come back to complete our whole house re-stucco at a later date. I would 100% recommended him for your stucco needs."

"We hired Edgar with Stucco Specialties to repair stucco around a patio door and install architectural foam around the area. From the moment Edgar came to our home for the estimate he was professional, prompt and answered all of our questions. His pricing is very reasonable. He completed the work originally quoted and offered to address some other stucco areas of concern. His work is impeccable, he maintained a clean work area and cleaned after completing all of the repairs. Edgar is a true craftsman, we would highly recommend his services."

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"Now let me rave about Dave... He was on time if not early, he is a man that can do what he says and does it really fast. The deck repair was above and beyond what we expected. We wanted it it safe and up to code, he made it a work of art. He was knowledgeable of everything we threw at him.  He repaired the window glass so we didn't have to buy a whole new window, squeezed a dishwasher in a tiny kitchen (husband must have dishwasher), did the insulation and did the water shut off replacement. He works quickly and cleanly too, we could not even tell there was work being done. We are so pleased and yes we would hire him again in a heartbeat."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost of siding repair or replacement, but coverage depends on the cause of the damage. Most policies will cover damage from a covered event, such as a storm, wind, hail, fire, natural disaster, or other impact damage. Your policy might pay for the full or partial cost of the repair or replacement. However, damage resulting from age, general wear and tear, or neglect is typically not covered, and you should expect to pay for those repairs out of pocket. It is best to review your specific homeowners insurance policy for full details on what is covered, how to file a claim, and what documentation is required.

Repaired stucco requires regular inspections, cleaning to prevent mold or mildew build-up, and timely minor repairs to address hairline cracks. Applying protective sealants can also enhance longevity and maintain its appearance.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.

It typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes for a window pro to replace one window in standard siding types, but a window in stucco will likely take a bit longer because of the density of materials. Custom architectural windows usually require a longer replacement process because of the additional fitting and securing required.

To maintain stucco, inspect it annually for cracks and clean the surface with a mild detergent. Seal any cracks promptly to prevent water infiltration, and reseal or repaint as needed to preserve its appearance.
