"Mr Lee was great to work with. He showed up on time and his work was terrific. Afterwards he made sure to clean up everywhere he worked so you couldn’t even tell he was here (except for the repaired work). He replaced drywall from a plumbing issue and also fixed some holes we had in drywall."

"I needed a 20x20 hole in my wall repaired. The hole was caused by electrical work and these guys came in and replaced the drywall and mudded it in exceptional fashion. Their work and professionalism is outstanding and you can't be the price."

Small jobs welcome

"Work scope was replacing part of the drywall in one wall (wall was opened up to remove a bee hive), followed by taping/mud and texturing to match the rest of the wall. The work started as scheduled. We appreciated that step #1 was protecting the rest of the room (flooring, furniture, etc). Work quality was excellent and we would definitely use them for future projects."

"Me and my wife were very happy with the service and quality of work that we got from Zohar and his people when they remodeled our bathroom.
Each day, Zohar sent his workers and they arrived on time, worked hard, were polite and cleaned up each day   before leaving.  The project manager Reuven came by regularly to check on the work and see the progress.
The bathroom that we did with Zohar included a shower, New floor, Paint and bathroom fixtures.
The materials that we used, were ordered by the office of Zohar and they arrived prior to the time when the workerds needed them. In general, We are happy and we do recommend this company for and remodeling project.

"Lalo is awesome. He is always on time (usually early) and does a great job. This report is for the most recent work of painting three bathrooms, but he also has done extensive drywall repairs when I was remodeling my kitchen, and minor framing work (new doorway). I highly recommend Lalo because he is friendly, listens to what you want, and then actually does it. What a concept."

"Overall great job.  Answered my questions about up-charges beyond standard colors before purchase.  They made an appointment after we purchased the deal and came out and confirmed size and color (which ended up being a really close match to the rest of the house).  They then came back and Installed a new granite countertop and back splash in our office.  They were very conscientious about our back wall not being completely straight and asked about it before installing the back splash.  Job looks great and really finished off the new cabinets in our office.

"We did a flloring project with cielo, moving some walls, termite treatment and interior paint. Tom Cohen was our project manager. Honestly, he is very responsible and responsive, he over delivered on what he promised and also gave us a plumbing service and a new faucet for free while we were deep into the project. The crews are very proffesional and they respected our home and premisses. Tom was here almost every day to supervise the job and to make sure that everything is coordinated with no hiccups. I used to call him with questions at least twice a day and he allways picked up the phone or got back to me asap, with a lot of patience allways answered my questions and made sure to cover every area of concern that we had. He even brought us a small present for Christmas. Overall, couldn't ask for a smoother and a worry free project. I would definatelly use this company again"

"This is an update to my initial review.  We are now in the midst of the remodeling of our kitchen, two bathrooms, and dining room.  As stated in our initial review, we called Goodfellas Construction based on their rating on Angie?s List.  Within a couple of days, Danny Gold from Goodfella?s came to walk through the project with us and give us a quote.  Danny was very knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with.  He went over every detail of our project and provided ideas that we
hadn't thought of as well as listening to the ideas that we had.  He made sure all our questions were answered.
Now that we are in the middle of the project, we cannot say enough good things about the work that has been done so far.
The quality of the work has been exceptional.  Danny has been outstanding.  He is professional, detailed, and a pleasure
to work with.  He is very responsive to any questions we may have and keeps us abreast of the work that will be going
on.  He is always available by phone, text, or email ? day or night.  During the demolition of the walls and ceiling of our dining room, it was discovered that a header beam needed to be changed out which wasn?t included in the initial bid.  He explained the importance of having this been done and provided a reasonable cost for the additional work.  Julio, our on-site coordinator, is very knowledgeable and is very pleasant to work with.  He answers any questions that we may have and provides guidance to his crew.  Danny and Julio are keeping the work moving along and, right now, we are ahead of schedule.  The demolition crew was great.  They put plastic over areas to help keep the dust from going through the house (at least as much as possible).  They hauled off all the debris and swept up every evening.  The electricians were great.  They did a fantastic job changing out all the old electrical in the kitchen and bathroom, installed recessed lighting in the kitchen, bathroom, dining room, living room,
family room, and bedroom as well as smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.  They installed a new electrical panel and worked all day and into the early evening to complete.  They laid down a tarp over our garden area so they could clean up the stucco that had to be chipped away.  The plumber did a great job installing new copper plumbing and installing a new tub.
We have been working with Henry, the cabinetmaker, and he has been great and very pleasant.  He helped us design the kitchen and bathrooms that we were looking for.  He has been very patient with us as we try and work out the colors of the cabinets.  We are now at the stage of tiling the bathroom and then the kitchen.  Can?t say enough about Samuel who is doing the tiling.  He just finished the tub surround and it is beautiful. We discussed with him the look we were going for and he measured and lined everything before he started working.  He is very pleasant to work with and does beautiful work and is very detailed in the work he performs. Can?t wait for him to start the tiling the kitchen and the upstairs bathroom, as we know it is going to look beautiful.  All the other workers who were involved in the raising of the ceiling and floor in the dining room, removing the wall between the living room and the dining room, and all the drywall installation and drywall repair have done a
fantastic job.  Everything is cleaned up each and every day.
We will provide a final review with pictures when the work is completed.  So far, we are very pleased with all the work and the crew."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

All plaster walls will crack over time due to normal house settling and expansion and contraction from temperature and moisture changes. Small, thin hairline cracks are generally not serious and are mostly a cosmetic issue. However, larger or more significant cracks can indicate structural problems.

Here's how to tell the difference:

  • Cosmetic Cracks: Cracks that are 0.5 cm (0.2 inches) or thinner are typically cosmetic.

  • Structural Cracks: Cracks wider than 0.5 cm, excessive or deep cracks, multiple cracks in the same area, or cracks that span around corners can signify a structural or foundation issue. Cracks along the joints where walls meet the ceiling also warrant attention.

For cracks wider than 0.5 cm, structural repair is needed. If a crack is 2.5 cm (1 inch) or wider, or if you notice any signs of a structural problem, it is best to contact a plaster repair professional to assess the damage.

Applying plaster to a wall will usually cost between $2 and $10 per square foot for both the material and labor. The cost will vary based on the quality of the plaster you’re using and whether or not prep work is required before the work begins. Wall prep can add up to about 10% to your total costs. Plastering exterior walls can be more expensive in many cases because they are taller and require scaffolding and safety equipment.

Both plaster and drywall are durable wall finishes, but they differ significantly in installation, cost, performance, and aesthetics.

Installation & Cost: Drywall installation is faster and more affordable, typically costing $1.50 to $3 per square foot. It uses premade sheets, making it a more accessible DIY project. Plastering is a labor-intensive craft that requires specialized skills, pushing costs to $2 to $10 per square foot. It involves applying a wet paste over a lath framework.

Durability & Performance: Plaster is generally more durable, longer-lasting, and provides superior soundproofing. It is also a better insulator, which can help reduce energy costs. Drywall is easier to remove for future renovations.

Aesthetics: Drywall provides a smooth, uniform surface ready for paint or texture. Plaster offers a high-end, naturally textured look that can hide imperfections and is often preferred for achieving a classic or historic aesthetic.

Which is better? The choice depends on your priorities. Drywall is ideal for those prioritizing a lower upfront cost, faster installation, and DIY potential. Plaster is the better option for a higher-end project where durability, soundproofing, and a unique, premium finish are more important than the initial cost.

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.

Choose a drill bit that is the size of the screws of the anchors you will use. You aren’t drilling through metal or concrete—hopefully—so any standard twist, wooden or all-purpose drill bit will work fine. It’s also important to have a screwdriver capable of drilling through the drywall and into the stud. The good news is most available drills, even the older ones, can do this with no issue.
