"We had 2 sliding screen doors replaced with new heavier duty screen doors. Replaced due to pet damage. One front door screen with pet shield and 2 ripped window screens were also replaced. All completed professionally at a fair price."

"A to Z Window Screens were a pleasure to work with right from the start beginning with their office staff when making the appointment for them to give me an estimate for six new screens and a screen door. The estimate and cost was right within the budget of what I wanted to spend. Their tech was highly professional and very kind to talk too. The screens were made and installed in a very timely manner, actually they were about a week ahead of schedule of their delivery date given on the estimate. There were no surprises or disappointment in the quality of the screens. They were exactly what was discussed during the estimate. They look great!"

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Most window screens in residential homes are designed to be removed from the inside, especially with double-hung, single-hung, and casement styles. That said, some setups require exterior removal. Older homes or custom installs may have exterior clips or brackets, and sunscreens are almost always mounted on the outside. Before removing your window screen, look at how it is held in place.

Most solar screens last 10 to 15 years, depending on the material quality, exposure to weather, and the level of maintenance. High-quality materials and regular cleaning can extend their lifespan, while harsh climates or neglect may shorten it. Routine cleaning, inspecting for damage, and avoiding harsh cleaners can help extend the lifespan of your screens.

Installing a basement window generally takes a few hours, assuming there are no structural issues you need to resolve first. If you’re a novice DIYer, the project could take longer; on the flip side, a licensed and trained window contractor may be able to replace multiple basement windows in the time it takes a homeowner to replace one.

Among the various entry points into your residence, it's crucial to recognize that your basement windows are arguably the most susceptible. Basements usually have windows facing the side and back yards, often concealed from driveway floodlights, porch lighting, and doorbell cameras. Their vulnerability underscores the importance of reinforcing basement window security to safeguard your home from break-ins.

Yes, you can absolutely put a screen on a casement window, and most casement windows come with screens. Unlike with a double-hung, single-hung, or sliding window, the screen in a casement window sits on the inside of the window so that the sash can freely open outward. Screens are especially important for casement windows because the large window opening the window provides leaves your home more open to bugs and outside debris than most other types of operable windows.
