"A highly proficient, well co-ordinated five-man crew transformed what initially appeared as a scraggly mass of leaves atop a couple tree trunks into a picturesque setting where a beautiful high arch of light now separates two two picture-perfect oak tree canopies. Unfortunately, the complex and shallow root system of elm trees makes surrounding elm trees particularly vulnerable to DED. Early discovery is key!

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall.
