Hi, I’m Jeffrey Brown. I’m a retired Navy Chief Warrant Officer with over 22 years of experience in leadership, operations, and managing teams. I spent the last several years managing aviation ordnance operations, where safety, accountability, and getting the job done right were critical.\nI’ve had a lot of experience leading people, solving problems, improving processes, and working in fast-paced environments. I’m now looking to take those skills into the private sector, and I’m excited about the opportunity to help you through Angi!

"We scheduled two packers to come Wednesday. They showed up right on time, and KC came by to check on everything (and bring me a Princess Packers/Meathead Movers goody bag!) and then one more stopped by about an hour later to check on the progress. She stayed to help pack, so the 4 of us packed for 7 hours. On the day of the move, once again, the MM showed up right on time, and loaded the truck in record time. They carried 2, 3 and 4 boxes at a time, wrapped furniture, etc. and jogged when they were not carrying anything! Amazing! Then they were patient with me at the unload, when I had to organize the storage so that my daughter had access to her stuff, and that my son's stuff was easily accessible for him to take to SF. What a mess! But they did it perfectly!! Better than I could have done by myself! I thought I was almost done, until I went to the house the next day and had a panic attack when I saw how much I had left to do! So, another SOS phone call to MM, and two movers came back Wednesday to help me load and haul the rest of the stuff! Every fiber in my body ached, my brain ached, I didn't know how I was going to get this done. But, with the help of the fabulous Meathead Movers, I did get it done. I cannot recommend this company enough. They thought of things that I would not have, and had solutions. They were kind, professional, and STRONG!! Moving can be emotional experience, which it certainly was in my case. I will never forget what they did for me, how they took care of me and my "stuff." There is a reason for the saying, "you get what you pay for." Meathead Movers is certainly worth every singe cent. This was truly one of the most difficult weeks in my life, and they helped me get through it. THANK YOU Meathead Movers!! You rock!!"

"Mike took the time to come and do this one little thing for us, but treated it with the same priority that he would have had it been a big job. He is pleasant to work with and knows exactly what he is doing. He is a true professional, but more than that, one can tell that this isn't just a job for him . It's more of a calling. He will be back to help us many times in the future!"

Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

If the scratch is large enough that it compromises the integrity of the wood, a wood filler probably won’t be enough to fix the problem. In that case, you might need to sand and refinish the entire floor or replace a board. If you do use a filler, use one that’s appropriate for the scratch. Water-based wood fillers work for small gaps or gouges, while epoxy has added strength to fill larger scratches and gaps.

Regularly check and tighten screws, avoid excessive weight, and clean surfaces with appropriate materials to prevent damage.

When water penetrates wood, the wood swells, causing the wood and veneer to separate. This separation creates bubbles on the surface of your furniture. If water spills on wood veneer, it needs to be dried ASAP. Surface spills can cause minor damages like white spots and blushing, but if you’re slow to action, you’re looking at more work—and spending—to restore your wood veneer.

Wood furniture can become sticky for several reasons. Often, it's due to an accumulation of dirt, grime, or oils on the surface. Another common cause is using too much polish or wax, which can leave a sticky residue, especially after cleaning. If excess product is the culprit, you can remove the buildup with a cloth dampened with warm water and a little dish soap. Afterward, you can reapply a small amount of polish or wax, making sure to wipe away any excess. However, if cleaning doesn't help, the stickiness may be a sign that the furniture's finish is failing. As varnish and lacquer age, they can degrade and become tacky. In this case, the furniture will need to be refinished to resolve the issue.

Use rugs in high-traffic areas, immediately clean up spills, and do regular dust mopping.
