"Adam was fantastic to work with. I had a sliding glass door that was extremely sticky, and after two other companies were unable to fix it, Adam came out promptly and resolved the issue quickly. I was so impressed that I had him repair two additional sliding doors, a screen door, and a shower door hinge while he was there. His pricing was very fair, he was professional and courteous, and the quality of his work was excellent. I would absolutely recommend Adam to anyone needing sliding door, screen door, or related repairs."

"SGK came out and replaced 4 of our windows earlier this year. The team was professional and helpful from the office staff down to the installers. We love our new windows and we won't hesitate to use SGK again for future projects."

"Christopher was awesome! I spent months and months asking around trying to hire family, friends & other "professionals" to help knock out some home projects I needed done. I finally found someone who is knowledgeable, flexible & VERY well priced for quality craftsmanship. Christopher went above and beyond to make sure my family got exactly what we wanted brining us a couple of choices to choose from. We now have a bluetooth (to stream music) fan multi-light combo that came out pretty dope. I have already asked if he could return to build some custom window screens and the wife is looking into having him redo the kitchen floor. Christopher is a keeper!"

Glass Block Windows questions, answered by experts

Glass block windows aren’t fire hazards; fire-rated glass block windows can increase your home’s fire safety. Modern glass blocks are made with materials that can resist high temperatures and prevent fire spread. Most offer a 45-minute fire rating, while some increase it to two hours. Compared to the typical 20 to 90 minute rating for a double-pane window, glass block can increase your home’s safety in the event of a fire.

You can still see vaguely into some types of glass block windows at night. Although there won’t be clear definitions, passersby may still see shapes, shadows, and movement through the glass. If you want complete privacy, consider installing diamond glass block windows rather than the typical clear or wavy glass blocks.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on the number of blocks and customization requirements.

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.
