Small jobs welcome

"Dave was great! The best communication and transparency I've seen in a long time. Dave explained what he needed to do to install the dryer vent and got right to work...NO wasted time. He installed the vent and made sure it was working properly. The vent looks great! Dave is knowledgable, professional, and a nice person. He also stayed in touch, letting me know how soon he would arrive and when he was on his way. I really appreciated that. We will definitely call him the next time we need a handyman."

"I was totally impressed with JE Electric quick response to my request for their services. I must have tried to contact 3 other companies without receiving a call. James was prompt all the way from the estimate visit to the completion of the work. He even stayed a little longer to help me position a device in my closet. JE installed a dual 220v line from the breaker panel to the house. All work was done within electrical code regulations. James and his crew are to commended for a job well done JE is my go to Electrical contractor."

"

Mr. Dove didn't do the work.  It was two of his employees or subcontractors.  The installation of the wiring, ceiling fan and ceiling light went fine, but the drywall repair wasn't that good.  The texture they sprayed on the walls didn't even remotely match the existing wall texture, so their patch job was obvious.  Also, they didn't reconnect something in one of the outlets so only the top socket worked.  When I notified Mr. Dove, he came out the next day to fix it.  I was impressed by Mr. Dove's professionalism, and would hire him again provided he did the work.

"When out to give estimate, he told us how to fix on of the issues ourselves (change type of light bulb) and helped us order the right lights for the pantry. When the lights came in, he was out quickly to install. Very satisfied and am definitely keeping their card for any future needs."

"I had a wobbly ceiling fan that 2 other guys didn't know how to fix. The consensus was I needed a new fan. John quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. It's as good as new...actually better because John put it better screws than the ones that originally came with the fan. Also, he arrived right on time. I highly recommend him!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

A whole-house fan works best to pull chilled and dry air into your home in the early morning hours and at night. This system allows you to close your windows after turning off the fan and trap the cool air inside. You can run your whole house fan continuously for maximum ventilation and fresh air, or you can turn it on for ten minutes or so at a time to introduce cool, fresh air as needed.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.

Yes, you can oil an electric fan with machine or motor oil but don’t use cooking oil because it can become thick or seize up, damaging the fan. Before oiling your fan, turn it off and remove any dust and debris. Wipe away any excess lubricant after oiling.

There are many types of ceiling fans available, each designed for different spaces and needs. Standard ceiling fans are the most common type and work well in most rooms. Low-profile ceiling fans are better suited for rooms with low ceilings. Smart ceiling fans can be controlled with a smartphone or voice commands. For larger spaces with ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, large ceiling fans are ideal. Dual-motor fans have two motors to produce more airflow in multiple directions. You can also find energy-efficient or Energy-Star models that can be up to 60% more efficient, as well as fans with built-in lights or retractable blades.

It depends on your budget and cooling needs. Whole-house fans keep your home breezy by pulling in cool air and pushing out hot air. In places with milder climates, they can replace air conditioning. On the other hand, Attic fans focus on keeping your attic cool—not your entire house. Often, whole-house fans cost more than attic fans, with installation ranging from $600 to $3,600.
