"I saw an ad on Angie's list for a Quiet Cool Trinity Pro 3.3 whole house fan system installed for a good price. However, I wasn't quite sure the 3.3 would move enough air for my sq. footage. I left a msg. and Christopher the owner called me back the next day as he was out of town. We talked about the system and since I already had a pre-existing fan, but it was the old style box top from 20 years ago that sounded like a plane taking off. Christopher assured me the 3.3 would be more than enough for my sq. footage, especially since I installed a Quiet Cool Attic Gable Vent fan that moves a lot of air too. He also said the noise reduction would amaze me and it did. It's been turned on high and the lady of the house didn't even know it was turned on. Since, I know how to tape, top, texture, and paint, Christopher gave me a great discount from the Angie's list price. The guys, Phil and Eddie, showed up on time and ready to go. It went by fairly fast and I've just finished taping it out. Tomorrow or the day after, I'll get down to topping it and finish it with some orange peel texture spray to match the existing texture and paint. Great team and great price for a great product. Thanks!"

"The technicians that came to install our HVAC system were super friendly and accommodating to my many requests about locations of the furnace, vent pipes, the condenser wiring, piping, and the condenser itself. When I asked for a 90 degree boot feeding two registers so the piping could stay high, a technician made a run to a store and found them. I want to give a shout out to Danny Aguilar who installed the furnace with Edgar and Victor. Grant Duran with Jose and Richard did an amazing job installing the vent pipes. Finally Adolph Garcia with Gabriel and later several other technicians I previously mentioned all worked to install the AC system (condenser and its plumbing + electrical). They worked late into the day to complete the job. I was very demanding in where I wanted things installed and requested changes on a regular basis but in all cases I was accommodated."

"Spectrum One is our choice over and over again for renovating our home, which was built in the 1960s. Dennis comes out and looks at the scope of the project and gets back to you in a timely manner with an incredibly detailed and professional proposal. He takes into account your vision for the home and offers suggestions for improving the project or explains how the team can make that vision come to life. The project managers who oversee the project from start to finish have been diligent, respectful and ensure that the work being done is of the highest standards. They are on-site every day with a whole team working to get the job done as beautifully and as quickly as possible. The attention to detail from the whole group is what I most appreciate. We have used them for whole-home flooring (removal, installation and baseboards), recessed lighting, countertops, backsplash and would trust them with any project. We recently completed a third project with Spectrum One that included widening doorways, redoing an outdated fireplace hearth, and remodeling two bathrooms. Everyone at Spectrum One is quick to respond, honest, creative, and fun to be around. We love them and highly recommend to anyone looking to do a renovation, repair, or build!"

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

LED lights are certainly more energy-efficient, using 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs—this can help you save on your utility bills during what is an already expensive holiday season. In addition, LED lights last much longer than incandescent bulbs, about 25% longer. That said, they are also a bit more expensive than incandescent Christmas lights, and emit a bluish hue which some people don't like, compared to the golden glow of an incandescent bulb.

A ceiling light will usually have two or three wires: black, white, and sometimes green. Black wires are positive, or hot, while white wires are negative, or neutral. The green wire is the grounding wire.

When you’re wiring the light, connect black to black, white to white, and green to the grounding screw.

Generally speaking, you can install one recessed light for every 4 to 6 square feet. A 12x12 room is 144 square feet, which would need 24 to 36 recessed lights. The wattage you use for the light bulbs and the height of your ceilings can also impact the number of recessed lights you need for a 12x12 room.

It’s best to have the recommended support for any lighting fixture you install, and you could be risking injury to someone if you hang a chandelier without a stud. The chandelier could potentially fall, shatter, and hurt you or someone else, and you’ll need to have an additional hanging fixture, such as a hook to hold the lighting in place.

Under-cabinet lighting is generally energy-efficient, especially when using LED technology. Compared to traditional ceiling lighting or older bulb types like halogen and incandescent, LED under-cabinet lights consume significantly less energy, which helps reduce operating costs. This applies to various forms, including strip lights, puck lights, and built-in fixtures. For an option that uses no electricity, consider battery-operated puck lights. While they require periodic battery replacements, they have the added advantage of functioning during a power outage.
