"Gilbert and a younger guy finished the weeding from start to finish in a seamless manner. They spread additional bark covering the blotches. All work took 45 minutes so quietly that I did not realize they were in the back yard. The landscaper also quoted a reasonable price for an automated drip irrigation system tied to the current lawn sprinkler network. Great job. Value for money not a full five stars, but that is just this reviewer being chintzy."

"It was awesome, way beyond our expectations! Ramon did an excellent job, trimmed, weed whacked, mowed, raked, blew off leaves and did a weed spray around the yard perimeter! Truly amazing!"

"Several months ago I hired a contractor to fix my sprinkler system, and that person created a nightmare of leaky hoses all around in a big knot. Thank goodness for Raul from 916 Irrigation...I had a sense right away he could be trusted and knows what he is doing. He did not disappoint. I had such a mess that it required digging up concrete and redoing the entire valve system. The pricing was fair, the job was done quickly, and the sprinkler system works again. I can now begin to water my lawn automatically, and the area looks so much better. Raul put the equipment below ground, with a nice cover over it. So it functions better, but also looks SO much better. I could not be happier with the job done. I tried to get quotes from other companies, but they wrote back to me long after I had hired 916 Irrigation. Raul was excellent at communicating which is really important to me when I'm having work done. I hope you will hire Irrigation 916, and I believe you will be quite pleased you did! All the debris was cleaned up, and he went the extra mile of moving one of my sprinklers at no additional cost, to prevent a vehicle from being ruined by water. Need some work done? Better call Raul!"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

A standard home lawn mower with sharp blades can handle a thin layer of leaves without issue. You may need to make a couple of passes within several days to mulch leaves down, but your mower shouldn’t struggle. If your mower comes with a mulching kit, like an attachment to blow leaves out the side, that’s a good sign it’s ready for fall leaves. Set your mower to the highest or near-highest height for this project so it focuses on the leaves rather than the grass below.

Skunks like to forage for grubs in the soil, like worms and insects, but they are also tempted by trash and pet food bowls, so keeping these items out of sight may help keep skunks away. Skunks also like to set up a den in dark places, such as a crawl space or outbuilding.

Yes, removal services can handle projects like estate clearouts or major renovations.

For minor unevenness, you don't necessarily need to remove grass before leveling. You can apply a topdressing mixture to fill in low areas and even out the surface. However, for more significant unevenness or deep depressions, it might be necessary to temporarily remove the grass to ensure proper leveling and soil compaction. After filling and leveling, you can replace the grass or consider reseeding the area.

The growth of tall fescue grass often causes clumps of grass in your lawn. Avoid pulling up the clumps, as it won’t effectively remove them. Instead, dig out clumps and their roots when you notice them early in the growing season. Herbicides can also treat grass clumps, but they can also affect other plants you might not want to kill, so use them sparingly and always follow manufacturer instructions.
