"Dave Hathcock of D H Drywall Pros is a consummate professional. We had Dave remove the popcorn from our hallway ceiling. He arrived on time, covered the area so there would be no dust from the popcorn in the rest of the house, did a beautiful job, cleaned up the area better than before he started work, and was very reasonably priced. Very impressed with his courtesy and work ethic. Can't say enough about this guy. If you need drywall repair and/or texturing Dave's the guy. His phone number is 916 470-4502"

"I recently had the pleasure of working with S A W Drywall to finish my garage, and I could not be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The owner, Shawn Whittaker, was amazing when he came to give the quote professional, thorough, and incredibly accommodating to our hectic schedule. Despite other projects delaying their start, Shawn was flexible and understanding, making sure everything lined up perfectly. When I let them know we were finally ready to begin, Shawn immediately sent his employee, Shawn Walters, to get the job done. I cant say enough good things about Shawn Walters. He was an absolute pleasure to work with arriving on time every morning with a big smile and a positive attitude. His expertise was evident in every aspect of the job, and he made the entire process seem effortless. Shawn went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and his communication was top-notch throughout. If you are considering S A W Drywall for your next project, dont hesitate. Youd be incredibly fortunate to have Shawn Walters on your job he is a true professional and a joy to work with. I highly recommend this company and would happily hire them again!"

"Rick Davis was very responsive and professional; his painters were also very professional, friendly, and did an excellent job.  They stripped the wood trim down to the bare wood, used special primer to stop peeling on the west side of the house.  Rick also facilitated a contractors to come in and fix some stucco issues and minor repairs before the house was painted.  Rick Davis is one of the most professional, responsive, and knowledgeable contractors I have dealt with in quite some time.  I can highly recommend him and his workers.  I thought we got an $8000 paint job for half the price."

"ABE Interiors is AMAZING!!!! We had years of deferred maintenance from before COVID hit that just got worse during the quarantines. ABE Interiors fixed everything! Doors that wouldn't open or close, drywall repair, window replacement, appliance installation, interior and exterior painting, numerous custom wood work projects, and more. There is nothing that Aaron can't do, he always does an amazing job, works fast and efficiently, and is extremely accommodating to priority changes and project scope increases. We highly recommend ABE Interiors and already have plans to work together again on some future projects."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

In some minor cases, you can DIY drywall repair with minimal time and money spent. This method is best when you have a hole made by a singular problem, such as accidental furniture moving, and not a continuous problem, like a rodent infestation.

Knowing what product to use is crucial. For example, small holes only need spackle, whereas large holes might need a new piece of drywall. You can flex your DIY abilities on this project, but if you’d like a second opinion or have a more significant problem, it’s best to call in a drywall repair pro.

Furring strips, thin strips of wood or metal, are not always required for ceiling drywall installation. If the ceiling surface is even and in good condition, drywall can be directly attached to the ceiling joists using screws. However, furring strips become essential when dealing with irregular surfaces or when additional insulation or soundproofing is needed. They create a level substrate for attaching the drywall. Ultimately, the decision to use furring strips depends on the condition of the existing ceiling and the specific requirements of the project.

Costs depend on damage extent of damage, labor, finishing, and whether mold remediation is needed.

Drywall texture refers to the techniques used on the surface of drywall to create a pleasing visual or tactile effect. Depending on your desired outcome, drywall texture can range from incredibly subtle to a focal point of a room. Textures play a significant role in interior design and are an excellent and relatively cost-effective way to change the feeling of a room.

The best way to make long, straight cuts is to use a utility knife and a T-square to score the sheet, snap along the score, and then finish the cut by cutting through the paper on the opposite side with the utility knife. If you’re making small cuts, curved cuts, or cutouts for electrical boxes or light fixtures, you can use a manual jab saw to keep costs down, but an electric spiral saw or oscillating multi-tool will get the cleanest, fastest cuts possible.
