"I chose Bonney after interviewing a number of HVAC companies that I found on Angie's List. I decided on a and quot;heat pumpand quot; because that was the type of system recommended by the local utility. I had Bonney do all the work before I actually moved into this condo. After moving in and after I started using the AC, I was never happy with the operation of the fan. Sometimes it would rev up like a hurricane and almost blow you out of the room, and it was loud, drowning out the TV and radio. Other times it was OK. I made several phone calls but was given various excuses as to that was how and quot;heat pumpsand quot; worked. As the bills were lower than I had in the Bay Area, I just accepted the situation, and besides, I had other personal issues to attend to as well. But when the cold weather started, I found that I couldn't control the thermostat timer, and my heating bills were more than double what the AC bill was. It wasn't until I finally called and demanded that Bonney and quot;rip it all out and put in a normal heaterand quot; that I finally got the fan speed adjusted and the thermostat operating correctly, which was just this last April, more than a year after the initial installation.
I have since had more attic insulation added and a SMUD home inspection, and both representatives commented that the HVAC work was done well and that I had quality equipment. So it seems that the only real problem, in spite of numerous field technician visits, was that the equipment was never configured correctly.
I can say that all the field technicians that I dealt with here at the condo were polite, considerate (wore booties in the house), and easy to work with, however, I never saw the same technician twice. And the Bonney managers I complained to at a and quot;Home and Gardenand quot; show and the and quot;problem resolverand quot; I spoke with by phone never followed up with me to status any of the field technician work.
So I'll be researching other providers when the warranty period expires.

Our team at Bonney helped restore flow at this Sacramento home by performing a sewer spot repair on the main line for our customer. This involved locating the problem area, digging the trench, snaking the line to clear the drain, repairing a section of the sewer pipe, and then backfilling the space to restore back to the original landscape.

"It couldn't have been better. Ewald and his son did an outstanding job replacing a ceiling fan plus installing a down light. Cost was very reasonable. It's hard to find trades with integrity and they just don't come better than this firm. Not only that they are really nice people. I will definitely go to them in the future."

"Great Electrician! Arrived on time, was professional, knowledgeable and personable. Installed/wired pendant lights in our vaulted ceiling kitchen, new wiring/install of ceiling light in bedroom, and fixed rodent damage to wiring in garage. We will definitely use Bach Electric for our future needs and would recommend him to everyone in our neighborhood plus friends/family."

"It was very fast, two person crew to 'label' the electrical box outside.  They did not literally label the breakers but sent a spreedsheet with rough names of areas each breaker controlled.  My house is pretty old and has many updates so I'm not sure if the labels are detailed enough to completely rely on if I attempt my own work.

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

If you’re replacing an old fixture with a ceiling fan, you usually won’t need a permit, but if your electrician runs new wiring for the fixture, you likely will need a permit. Building permits are necessary in most municipalities if you’re making changes to your electrical system, so even if you have partial wiring run to the area and need new wiring installed for added functionality, you’ll probably need a permit. Your electrician should be able to let you know if you need one, and they’ll typically file the paperwork for you.

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs.

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

To convert a ceiling fan to wireless, you’ll need to install a canopy module to access the lighting and fan controls. Many options are available, all of which help you control specific elements of your ceiling fan, so you have plenty of choices depending on your needs.

Hiring an electrician to install a new ceiling fan may be the best course of action. Installing a ceiling fan requires basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. It also requires holding it up with one hand and in an awkward position, making the installation even more difficult. If you’re uncomfortable with these circumstances, your best bet is to hire a professional.

Ceiling fans offer multiple benefits for your home. They improve air circulation to prevent stagnant environments and provide cost-effective temperature control, which can reduce reliance on your HVAC system and help lower utility bills. In addition to their functional advantages, ceiling fans can also enhance a room's aesthetic appeal with features like built-in lighting and modern styling.
