"Good plumbers are hard to find!! I spoke with 3 for this job and so glad I found FDL!! Francisco worked super fast and did excellent work! Very responsive via chat and phone and kept me updated during the entire project. He even went above and beyond and purchased hardware for me from the store. Would easily use again and have already added to my contacts for the next project! Super fair pricing!"

"They showed up on time. It would have been good had his name been sent to me before he arrived. I got good service from the plumber. Not happy with the process to get him here"

"It was a pleasure being able to have Robert come out to help with my family s water heater issues. He was very friendly and is a well experienced plumber (I believe he told me 20 years as a licensed plumber). Response time was excellent, same day service, and the cost of service was more reasonable than any other estimates we received. I would highly recommend Robert and Drain Right to my friends or family, and I will be reaching out for his plumbing services again if I ever encounter any plumbing issues while I m still living in the Bay Area."

"Described job when estimate was requested. Plumber expressed surprise when he found out 3 toilets needed work. Initial estimate was to replace angle valves and fix leaks. Price was agreed upon and angle valves were replaced. Plumber thought the leaks were due to the flapper gaskets so he "flipped" the gaskets on all 3 toilets. One toilet obviously needed a new filler so he used a new filler I had provided. Leaks continued on 2 toilets. The leaks were actually due to the fillers, not the gaskets. Was told I would need to schedule a new appointment later in the week for a new (additional) estimate to fix the remaining toilets. Second appointment came and plumber did not show even after I called to inquire. Next day the plumber arrived with a helper. Two fillers were replaced. Noted that because of the design of the toilets they needed to be moved to get access to the connectors."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

PEX pipes can freeze. While they are less likely to burst than rigid pipes like copper or galvanized steel, it is still possible. PEX is flexible and can expand as water freezes and contract as it thaws. However, this expansion can cause leaks around the pipe's connections. Furthermore, frequent freezing and thawing cycles can stress and weaken the material over time, increasing the risk of a future burst. Therefore, even though PEX is freeze-resistant, it is not freeze-proof, and standard insulation precautions are still recommended to prevent freezing.

While the toilet bowl and toilet tank require haul away to your curb, landfill, or recycling center, you can dispose of your old, used toilet seat in your regular garbage collection. If your toilet seat is plastic or duroplast, you can even recycle it instead at a local recycling facility.

A back pressure valve is a control valve used on production vessels, such as separators, treaters, and free water knockouts. The valve holds pressure until a set point is reached, and then releases upstream pressure to reset. Back pressure valves are not safety mechanisms. Instead, they are regulators designed to keep the fluid, gas, or liquid mixture in a system at a certain pressure level to prevent bursts and other incidents.

Meanwhile, a backflow preventer is a safety mechanism that kicks in when the pressure has already failed and contaminated water flows in the reverse direction. Most backflow preventers consist of two one-way valves, or check valves assembled together. This design only allows water to pass through in one direction but not the other.

A small trickle with drops every three seconds is enough to relieve pressure and ensure there is movement in your pipes. The cost to run a drip is minimal, usually less than $1 a month. The potential savings from flooding and water damage in your home could be in the thousands.

While there is no specific “best” method to clear hair out of a drain, several options work well. Using a combination of baking soda and vinegar to dissolve the hair clog is a great and easy way to help clear the drain. Drain snakes are also effective for more severe clog buildups.
