These underground homes provide them with a safe and secure place to rest during the day and to raise their young.

Most types of lizards are active during warm summer daylight, especially when temperatures rise above 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Some lizards take cover under rocks or burrows on sweltering days to escape the heat, reemerging in the cooler afternoon. It is important to note that lizards are cold-blooded creatures that depend on their environment to regulate their body temperature.

You can also try making a homemade spray of jalapeno pepper, yellow onion, and cayenne pepper—believe it or not, skunks are sensitive to these smells, so if you spray this around the den or in hard-to-reach places around your property, most skunks will take the hint and leave.
