"We hired John and Anytime Painting to paint our exterior garage, doors, as well as concrete steps and front porch. He was great at first, and we selected his crew over other quotes. However, after just a few months, the paint on our front porch and steps is pealing off in patches. We tried contacting him multiple times via direct text as well as through Angi to repair the porch and stairs, and we have not even gotten a response yet after a month of trying. That is not to mention that his crew left at the end of the job with items obviously unfinished, like the trim on an area of the the garage that had been primed but not painted at all in one spot, the lighting fixture they had removed was not put back onto the house, and they had to come back a week later to complete the obvious items. IT seems likely that they only applied 1 coat of paint to the porch and front steps, which was not obvious at the time, but other steps painted with the same paint are fine, so it is the only explanation. Now we are going to have to have the front porch and steps repainted again, after paying him to do the job. I am not typically one to leave negative reviews, and was hoping to resolve this directly, but since he is not responding to us, we don't have a choice, as I would definitely not recommend working with a company that does not complete or stand by their work and then ghosts."

"John Villar gave a very professional overview of his company and their values, and offered a competitive price for the work. We thought the job would be well done but sadly this wasn't the case. 1. We understood that the work would probably start around the first week of September 2017. However, the date kept being moved back until September 25th which meant we had to push back other work we had arranged to have done. I felt we were being squeezed in between other bigger jobs. 2. Overall the work was sloppy: - Hardened paint drips were found on surfaces. - Paint was discovered on bedding and various pieces of furniture. I showed the head painter the bedding but did not find the the furniture paint stains until they had finished and gone. - One area which was to be painted had a varnished surface which required a special undercoat so the varnish wouldn't seep through the paint. The head painter said he had not been told about this and seemed concerned about the at the extra work required. - Although the contract stated "Fill cracks & holes in walls", we were told that small imperfections (smaller than holes) in the the painting surface were not covered and were even more visible after the surface had been painted. Also we found a wall crack in one of the bedroom walls after they had left, which had not been repaired but painted over. - Finally, there seemed to be a rush to finish which probably accounted for the inside door frames of 2 kitchen doors had different tints of paint, the original white gloss and a darker tint paint color, also sloppily finished. This is very noticible since the doors leading into the kitchen are usually kept open. The inside frame surfaces should have been left alone instead of having two different paint tints. - They offered to come back and fix problems, but it was difficult to get a suitable date since it required waiting until the Supervisor returned from a vacation. Also besides being very behind with other projects, we didn't want paint dropped on anything else, especially new floors!"
