He offered an alternative that we were not originally considering, which helped in the final choice of a contractor. The rough estimate for the cost of dry rot repair seemed unrealistically low, which did not make me feel very comfortable. I am not a contractor, but I had a rough idea that replacing all fascia boards and other dry rot repair was going to cost more than $1,000 if it was going to be done right.
