"Dave did an excellent job repairing the brick facade on our old 1930s home. He was professional, responsive, flexible with our timing, and the results were better than I expected. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of masonry work!"

"Received a quote for a silicone roof coating installation, TPO roof installation, and dry rot repair. Micah was very polite and punctual in the presentation of his quote. He offered an alternative that we were not originally considering, which helped in the final choice of a contractor. The rough estimate for the cost of dry rot repair seemed unrealistically low, which did not make me feel very comfortable. I am not a contractor, but I had a rough idea that replacing all fascia boards and other dry rot repair was going to cost more than $1,000 if it was going to be done right. I had about 7 quotes for this project. Their TPO quote was the 2nd highest of the 7 and the most expensive (by almost 80%) than the contractor we went with on the silicone roof coating installation(exact same silicone product)."

"We are enjoying our remodeled kitchen and bathroom very much. Jim finished the project within the timeline he promised. He was very helpful in picking out the materials and in coordinating colors. He was always very flexible with our time constraints. The contractor invoices that he gave to us were correct and contained all the information and documentation that was needed for the remodeling. Jim responded within a reasonable time to our texts and telephone calls. We particularly liked Richard, his worker, who was always punctual, worked earnestly, and went above and beyond to help us when little problems unexpectedly occurred. We are very pleased with the work they provided. Roger and Maria 7028 2nd Parkway Sacramento CA 95823 (916) 425 5434"

"Greg was a pleasure to work with. Our back splash went all the way up to the ceiling and around bay windows. It was a big job. He also helped me come up with a solution to frame my kitchen windows since the sill had already been cut from the slab and installed by a previous contractor. My cousin who is a retired contractor came over and said Greg’s work was impeccable. Highly recommend!"

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, in most cases it’s a good idea to wrap furniture in plastic to protect it from dirt, dust, and damage during storage. However, natural and porous materials such as wood or leather should have breathable fabric covers to prevent moisture damage from condensation. Either way, it’s always important to ensure proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup, especially in humid climates.

Yes, using samples and expertise to find the best materials.

Regularly check and tighten screws, avoid excessive weight, and clean surfaces with appropriate materials to prevent damage.

It is generally worth repairing leather furniture rather than replacing it, as it is typically more affordable and the material tends to retain its value. A typical repair averages around $250, which is significantly less than the thousands of dollars a replacement could cost. Even a full reupholstering, which can cost up to $4,000, may still be more economical than buying new. With proper care, repaired leather furniture can last for many years, making the investment worthwhile. However, if the underlying structure or frame of the furniture is damaged or malfunctioning, replacement might be a better option. The quality of the leather and the furniture piece are also important factors. For a definitive answer, it is best to consult a leather repair professional to assess your specific situation.

To treat sun-damaged furniture, clean the surface thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Next, assess the damage: Consider refinishing or applying a protective sealant for faded finishes. Apply furniture oil or conditioner to restore moisture to cracked or dry wood. Remember, the best way to treat your furniture is to prevent damage in the first place. Regular maintenance and preventive measures will keep your furniture looking its best. Lastly, it may be best to consult a professional furniture restorer or refinisher for expert repairs and restoration in severe cases.
