Customers say: Quick response

"The service was great! Dave was easy to work with and his sons did an excellent job installing the gutters. They had a large selection of colors and the one we picked blends in well with the color of our house. Got the Job done in about 4 hours and we are pleased with how it looks. We would highly recommend them to others."

"I saw the many reports of happy experiences with Swanny's service on Angie's List and sent him a request for an estimate. He responded within a couple of hours and set up a time a few days later for the estimate. He showed up on time and gave us a very reasonable estimate for the gutters and downspouts. We gave him the order on a Friday and he gave us an installation time for the following Tuesday. He and a helper arrived on time and made the installation in a couple of hours. We were delighted with the look and substance of the work."

"Very happy with Gutter Done. Good quality work, good communication and reasonable cost. There was a wide selection of colors and the two I chose (gutters & downspout) blended right in with my house. His downspouts are an updated round shape, not the square/rectangular kind you usually seen. Really nice looking. I would highly recommend Gutter Done.

"We'd bought a deal from Angie's List which included inspection of the roof (repairs were supposed to be extra). The tech from Roof Rx arrived within the given time window and got right up on the roof. He spent quite a lot of time up there, and when he came down he explained that he'd not only inspected, but also made a few repairs including fixing cracked seals around pipes, vents, chimney etc.  He told us our roof is in pretty good shape and probably will last for another 5 years (something we'd been worried about just because of its age and the approaching El Nino event).
I was very impressed with this company and I'd hire them again. It was well worth the $99 to know what kind of shape our roof's in, and know we have time to plan for a future re-roofing.

"We need gutter installation for our house. I invited a few companies to give me a bid. Each of them told me how good they are,. Tom from Aquatec evaluated my roof, and he was the only one who told me, I actually do not need full gutter around the house. I just need the areas our my leaking windows. Tom had good work ethic, and I felt trusted to him. He did a drawing, of the work, and sure next week the team arrived. Tim & Eugene installed the gutters with high proficiency. They climbed up the ladder like walking on the sidewalk. office staff Shana, Melissa and Linda were very helpful, responding to my emails promptly. I would give them 100 stars if I could."

"Albert Apodaca showed up on time and was informative. The estimate was reasonable and complete. The roofer, Jaimer(spelling?), was very thorough and professional. He advised me of the steps, and cleaned up after the work. He even retextured and repainted the eave portion that was replaced. Thank you. I cannot tell you how many times we have had to finish the jobs ourselves when we hire something done. This time we didn't have to do anything. The work was done in October and we have had several hard rainstorms since then and the repair has worked. We would definitely use them again."

"Martin and his wife Adrian came to the house to finalize our rain gutter installation. The communication between them and us was excellent. They showed up on time on a Saturday to install the gutters and when they were finished everything was exactly as I hoped it would be. I would highly recommend them to anyone that's going to have Raingutters put on their house."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Properly installed gutters should be able to function normally in heavy rains. Allowing water to overflow can cause water damage around your home's basement or foundation. If the overflow is caused by a simple clog, paying a gutter cleaning cost of $125 to $250 may be enough to get the gutters running clear again. If there's a larger issue, you may need to repair or replace your gutters.

If you’re replacing your roof, you don’t need to worry about replacing your gutters as long as they’re functional and in good condition. Some roofers may recommend temporarily removing gutters to prevent them from damage during a roof replacement, but the right professional can reduce this risk. Replacing your gutters would only be necessary if your gutters are in bad shape and already need replacing.

If you don't want to install gutter guards, the most common and inexpensive alternative is regular gutter cleaning, either annually, biannually, or as soon as they start to fill up. Using a leaf blower attachment can make this process easier. Other products designed to reduce cleanings include gutter screens (made of wire mesh, nylon, or foam), which are typically less expensive than a full gutter guard installation. You can also find guards and inserts designed specifically to protect your downspouts or opt for a whole gutter system like LeafGuard, which integrates the gutter and guard into a single product.

There are a handful of things you can look for to determine if you need to pay for gutter repairs, including the following:

  • Water leaking from the underside of your gutters during rainfall

  • Visible gaps between your gutters and your roof

  • Frequent issues with gutters overflowing or holding standing water

  • Gutters that sag or pull away from the house

  • Water damage to soffits, fascia boards, or other building materials

  • Mold growth on your exterior walls

  • Soil erosion underneath your roof overhang

  • Foundation leaks or inward bowing of foundation walls

Buried downspouts can freeze during cold weather as cold water runs through them. If you’ve discovered your downspouts are frozen, you can carefully pour hot water down the top of the downspout to defrost them. If that doesn’t work, you may need to dig your downspout back up. Avoid trying to break the ice from the exterior using a hammer as this can cause cracks and damage to your downspout.

To avoid freezing the future, consider adding a heating cable to the exterior, which can adjust heat based on the surrounding temperature.
