"I use Meek Electrical on all my HVAC jobs, from running new electrical to mini-split air-conditioners installed, to relocating power for customers that relocated outdoor units to new locations per remodel, changing outdated breakers with new, you name it. Owner Joe has many years of experience working on commercial and residential, very clean work & always a phone call away."

"This crew really helped me overcome some complicated electrical problems in the last flip I did. I’ve worked with my fair share of electricians and C2V Electric was just so communicative and low-maintenance. Shoutout to Josie for the hookup! Already have them scheduled for my next project"

"Brandon Becker - MURRIETA, CA - Willem was your salesman he was very good. He answered all your solar questions and even the concerns I had. Friendly easy to talk to and did not seem like he was trying to make a quick sale. Tiffany was prompt and kept me informed in every step of the process. Tiffany executed her job very well. Installers showed up when they say they were. Alerted me with a live electricity issue that happened with another company did, so that was really helpful. Judging by the drone shots, I can see the installation was very clean than most of my neighbors. Robert came out on time on a Sunday to help me understand and use my solar system. He was very informative and knowledgeable on explaining the system. Highly recommend this company."

"Where do I begin. River Sun Solutions was amazing start to finish. Their employees are the hardest working individuals I have seen in a long time. The biggest thing for me was their communication, they said they will be there at a certain time they were there a few minutes early. They did not dilly dally one bit, there crew knocked out a 39 panel install, ran all the electrical in the attic, and setup storage batteries in the garage on what the news stated was the hottest day of the year at 118 degrees outside not to mention the temp in the attic. The attention to detail on their work was next level, I have never seen a company be this thorough. When the install was complete they double checked everything after working hours on hours, they went through everything checking the panels on the roof, the electrical panel, the batteries in the garage, cleaned up their mess and left it cleaner than they found it. The best part was the owner himself stopped by several times to check in."

"I was contacted by a Tech at the assigned time and had to run to the store for a cable I needed. When I called back, I had a different Tech, but he was able to continue right where I had left off. There was no need to explain anything again. Awesome."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Switching the hot and neutral wires in an outlet or receptacle, a condition known as reverse polarity, is dangerous. While the outlet will still function and provide power, it creates a significant electrical shock hazard because anything plugged into it will remain electrified even when switched off. If you touch a conductive part of the appliance, such as the metal components of a toaster, you could receive an electric shock.

The most common reason a GFCI outlet would trip even when nothing is plugged in is if there’s a problem at the circuit breaker end. This could be an overloaded circuit, with too many appliances plugged into it, or another type of fault. If a GFCI outlet keeps tripping, it can also be because it is faulty and needs replacing.

Single switch installs are quick DIY projects, but you should consider enlisting the help of a pro for more complicated replacements—like a smart switch or if you live in an older home with outdated wiring. Professional electricians are trained in the latest code regulations. They are also insured, licensed, and bonded.

When selecting a pool heater, it’s important to think not just about the cost of the unit itself but also about how much it costs to run. Expect to pay about $100 per month to run a heat pump pool heater. A natural gas heater will cost twice that amount, while an electric pool heater costs about $250 a month.

Most LED bulbs have a plastic covering, while incandescent bulbs will be made from glass. This is because LED bulbs don’t produce as much heat as incandescent bulbs, so the covering doesn’t need to be as heat resistant. Also, an LED light bulb will usually have a marking on its base that identifies it as an LED.
