"This company came in a updated our 40-year old home insulation with new R-38 batting. We were impressed how much attention to detail the company has for removing old insulation, clean-up, disinfection, and installing new insulation. They also replaced a damaged dryer vent in the crawlspace. Nico and Jeremy were a great combo to work with from quote through install. I plan on calling them back in spring for another project."

"I needed to fix ceiling insulation after a major leak into the living room. The insulation was pulled up to allow things to dry out, but the company that did the drying (Stanley Steamer) said they would not put the insulation back. I called Ace because of all the great reviews on yelp. The bid was $650. I accepted it, and an excellent workman arrived on time as arranged. Here is the rub: The workman was finshed in 1/2 hr (!!!!!), and my jaw dropped. I thought for the price must be going to take at least a few hours. I had agreed to the price, though, so I wrote the check, as well as an email to the estimator for the job explaining how distressed I was by this. The email was passed to the manager of the Sacramento office, who called me right away. He said he would have felt the same, and that he would tear up the check and give me a new price. We met the next week, and he charged me half of the original bid. He gave me my original check and took my new check for $325. Here is what you should know about the price: The invoice had two *Service* items: a *show up fee* of $250, and another called *Work performed as per quote. This was followed by a *Quote adjustment based on actual work* of -$325. I truly appreciate the businesslike approach to the work: On time, done right as best I can tell. I also appreciate the response to my distress over the clear miscalculation. In spite of this, I feel overcharged even at half the original quote. The *show up fee* should have covered everything, so the maximum bill should have been $250. There was extremely little work performed, even if it was done well and professionally. In retrospect, I have no idea what the estimator included in $400 for *Work performed as per quote.* What did Ace do wrong? The estimator should have seen there was less than an hours work involved and told me that the minimum charge would be $250 to show up. If there were other minimum charges, such as a minimum of an hour of work, those should have been explained by the estimator so that I had some basis for understanding the bid and the opportunity to decide that the price was possibly going to be too high. The estimator said nothing about this, and there was no detail in the estimate. I believe I have given a fair revue for this disappointing experience. Ace has excellent customer service, and as best I can tell, the work was performed well. The pricing at first was way out of line, and ultimately still seems to me to be too high. But the job is done, and I am sure if there is any reason to, Ace will stand behind their work."

"I was referred to this company from a friend that used them in the past. I needed to remove part of drywall and replace the insulation inside due to a leak from one of the pipes. At first I called the office and told them what the problem was. The office sent Juan to my house to check and see the job. Juan came over the following day and looked the problem. He was able to give me a quote on the spot.
The price seem to be fair so I hired them for that job. Juan than scheduled me for 2 days later and he told me that it will take 1 day to complete and another day to paint.
I was happy with the fact that he came over when he said he will and he did complete the job the same day. The paint work was completed the following day and I?m happy with the results.

"Every person that came into our home from Tri-County was very professional and respectful.  They covered everything with plastic before removing the insulation and again when blowing it back in.  They cleaned up and disposed of the plastic, vacuumed the attic and cleaned up after themselves such that  you would never have known they were here.  The job of sealing the attic was done so well that the inspector made a comment that he had never seen a job done as well as this and ask who had done the work.  He gave them very high praise.

The salesman we had, Bryan Zailer, was very knowledgeable and helpful.  He would call back immediately if we had a question and stop by to check on things.  I would highly recommend Tri-County to everyone for their insulation needs."

"At this point, i can recommend this company in case you need to have someone professional, reliable and not expensive to work at your attic in case you will have any issues there. This company came over and replaced the insulation due to several problems that i had there.
Their price was good too and they came to my house in the time frame that was set ahead of time by their office.

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

While you can put new drywall over old drywall, it’s not always the best option. In some cases, drywalling over drywall can make it harder to find wires and pipes behind your walls and conceal more serious problems with your walls. It can also make the room smaller. On the plus side, putting drywall over drywall can improve soundproofing and insulation. Plus, it’s often less expensive than tearing down and adding new drywall.

If your home was built before the 1940s and was not remodeled in the past 50 or so years, you probably have plaster walls. Aside from assuming, there are some practical ways to tell if you have plaster walls, including the following: If you knock on the wall and it feels solid, not hollow, if you can’t insert a thumbtack easily, if there are cracks that look like spiderwebs, or if your home has curved, arched, or swirled walls, doorways, or window openings.

If you have an unfinished basement or attic, you could examine the backs of any finished walls to check, too.

It doesn’t matter which way you lay drywall, and you can choose to install it horizontally or vertically depending on the size of the wall and how tall the ceiling is. It’s easier to lay drywall sheets vertically if you have a taller ceiling, but laying sheets horizontally makes it easier to apply joint compound.

It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors.

It is possible to apply plaster on the interior or exterior of your home, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster is easy to apply in theory, but in reality, it can be a challenging material to work with, and it’s difficult to get the finished product to look clean, even, and smooth. Many DIYers end up calling in a professional afterward to touch up the area or even redo it entirely because of mistakes they made in the process. Hiring a plaster pro will cost more, but it’s usually the best option to achieve high-quality results.
