Customers say: Quick response

"Matt was very good about keeping all appointments and very friendly. His work on the insulation was nice and neat and very effective. Good adhesion in all surfaces, and he even made a special trip back on our small job to finish insulating several windows. Matt gave the best service and best product of all the contractors I’ve had to hire in the last year. We may ask him to come back and insulate the rest of the garage!"

"We have a 1970's and we decided to have an energy audit by Landmark Construction. It was clear that our house have some energy issues and was in need of a any type of energy overhaul.  The report that was prepared for us by Charlie and his office staff, was comprehensive, clear to understand and revealed that the ducts at the attic  was not sized appropriately. In addition to that, the furnace/AC in the smaller unit was old (and original) and had to be replaced. The recommendations that Charlie told us, included a new furnace/AC, new tankless water system, hot water pipe insulation, building sealing, the insulation and new ducting throughout the house. This was the best investment we ever made.  I could not believe the difference in our utilities bill.  Charlie and his team were great,  professional and experienced. I wish we did these 15 years ago!!

"Good customer service and were flexible when scheduling the work to be done. Can already feel a bit temperature difference in the attic where the insulation was done and the finish job makes the attic very bright. We have gained valuable space having had this work done."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

When you are learning how to tape and mud drywall, waiting for things to dry requires a lot of patience. So how long does drywall mud take to dry? On average, it takes about 24 hours. However, it depends on things like the thickness of the mud, as well as the room’s temperature, humidity, and ventilation. Using thin layers of mud in a warm, low-humidity room with good airflow reduces average drying time. You also could speed up drying time by making use of hot drywall mud, which consists of a powder that you mix with water, instead of using pre-mixed mud.

Textured walls can increase the value of your home if the style is modern and seen as a desirable feature and not something a prospective buyer would need to remedy. A good example of this is popcorn texture versus Venetian plaster. The plaster wall would add value to your home, whereas the popcorn texture may be something a new buyer would want to remove.

You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.

Since cement plaster tends to leave a textured surface, no matter how much you smooth it, some people prefer to use gypsum plaster as a topcoat over cement plaster, creating a smoother surface.

Drywall repair is typically completed within a day, depending on damage extent.

Whether you need a drywall anchor depends on the specifics of your project, particularly what you're hanging and where. You do not need a drywall anchor if you can screw or nail the object directly into a wooden stud, as the wood provides sufficient support and stability. However, if there are no studs in the location where you plan to hang the item, you should use drywall anchors to ensure it is securely supported. For very lightweight objects, like small pictures, adhesive picture hanging strips can be a suitable alternative to anchors.
