"Frank did an excellent job installing the wallpaper in our nursery! He had to re-finish the wall smooth first to give the best visual appearance for the wallpaper. He was very responsive in discussing and scheduling the job, and very open and helpful in reviewing project scope and options. He looked for the best solution for our job. His install was great, looks amazing, and he also put in extra effort to work around a fuse box in the wall. Great work and experience, highly recommended!"
"I was recommended to Fine Point Painting by my parents. In the past my parents had bad luck with contractors who gave meaning to the term, Jack of All Trades Master at None. I grew up doubting contractors but Bill and his crew were fantastic. When he came out to do the bid he answered all of my questions and was thorough on explaining to me the reasons. When I had additional questions/concerns he was quick to reply via email. The house we purchased to put it nicely, was in bad shape. Previously, it was a rental which I'm sure you can imagine the state it was in. It also had termite damage in which Bill advised me to have the paint job done after the fumigation tenting. Apparently, fumigation causes fresh paint to peel!!! Thank goodness we painted after the tenting. We had the whole works done on the interior. The acoustic popcorn on the ceiling was removed, sanded, textured, primed, and painted throughout the house. Also, the trim, doors and cabinets had oil based paint which needed to be sanded and primed in order for the latex paint to stick. The walls were sanded as well to remove embedded hair follicles and pebbles that were painted in the walls from the previous painter. Most of the interior of the house and entire garage smelled of animal urine and they pressure washed the garage with a cleaning solution to eliminate the smell. There were numerous cracks on the walls and ceilings which they filled. There were also 8 giant holes in the walls that they patched. They did an amazing job on the patchwork since you can't tell they were there!!! His crew was professional, courteous and they came on time. Also, they cleaned up after themselves very well. And this is coming from someone who is borderline OCD. There were no hidden fees or added fees tacked on at the end. What made it easier for us was a payment plan which was broken down into 3 payment installations. This meant we paid them after each chunk of work was completed. I have heard stories where people have paid contractors upfront and the contractors run away with money or they don't finish the project. If Angie's List had +'s and -'s I would give them A+'s. There are no words to express how pleased we are with Fine Point Painting. Our house looks amazing, the garage has no smell and I will hire them again for future projects.
"Walt’s Quality Painting just finished painting our kitchen cabinets. I cannot recommend Walt enough. He gave us an estimate the day he came to look at our project. He is efficient, extremely punctual, and his quality work is second to none. Walt has been in this business for a long time, and he knows his stuff. He is the real thing if you want old-school craftsmanship, and takes extreme pride in getting the project exactly as you want. My kitchen is beautiful. He also did trim work on our kitchen island for a beautiful new look. We are already lining him up for extra projects. My kitchen was extremely clean after each day he worked, and zero clean up after completion. The icing on the cake is Walt is an extremely pleasant person to be around. His price was more than fair and less than I thought to get this done. Thanks again, Walt, for a beautiful kitchen!"
"Javier and his crew painted our interior about a year ago and we welcomed him back to do the exterior found some dryrot and replaced the wood house looks great Thanks AOL PAINTING"
"Tim did an amazing job. He was prompt on arrival. Tim’s painting skills are outstanding. He completed work in a timely manner & he cleaned areas when finished. I would hire him again and I would recommend him to others."
"Brush brothers exceeded our expectations. Their price was competitive and they have a large crew who came in and knocked it out of the park! Several members of their crew have specialties like drywall repair, texturing, removing settlement cracks etc! We have hired them to paint the inside and outside of four homes so far, and their price was the lowest each time. I highly recommend them."
"Guys did a great job as promised. Took advantage of a $999 special; an additional $300 for extra exterior door painting. Approximately $1000 in paint necessary but we chose top quality paint in lieu of having Better Choice select paint. House was power washed and some trim replaced prior to painting. Some delays due to the high temperatures we experienced that pushed out the job a couple of times. "
"George and his wife did some painting for me, on a fairly small condo. He showed up when he said he would and completed the job in the time specified. He gave me the best price of the 3 painters I called. His quality was acceptable, not great, but certainly better than most."
"Juan is one of the most detailed-oriented painters I’ve had the pleasure to work with. His prep work is meticulous, which includes removing all hardware to ensure a seamless finish. He’s pro-active and hard-working as he moved many things just to help us out. He’s also extremely patient as we often changed our minds on color choices, and he is super responsive with texts and phone calls, which is a rarity these days. Juan wasn’t the cheapest choice, but he certainly was worth the money!"
To remove pre-pasted wallpaper, you’ll need to wet the wallpaper or steam it to loosen the paste on the back of the wallpaper. Spray the paper with water, then let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. From there, you should be able to peel off the wallpaper. Then, you may need to follow up with a cleaning solution and a scraper to remove any remaining wallpaper paste on the walls.
Hiring a professional wallpaper remover is almost always worthwhile. Although the work is more expensive due to labor costs, doing it yourself is extremely time-consuming, complicated, and easy to make mistakes and wreak havoc on your walls, regardless of the tools you use. Professional wallpaper removers have the tools and experience to get old wallpaper down quickly and without damaging the walls behind it.
Accent walls can feel out of place or distracting if not well designed. Accent walls that don’t fit in with a room’s style can feel jarring or overpowering. Some accent wall styles can also feel dated, but fortunately, it’s easier to update a single wall than an entire room.
As long as the surface you’re putting the tile on is properly prepped, peel-and-stick backsplashes should stay on and last anywhere from 3 to 5 years. The best way to ensure the tile stays on is to sand down and clean the wall before applying your design.
Yes, most professionals patch and smooth walls after removal to prepare for new finishes.
