"Joe is hard working, diligent, and honest. I hired him 1) to put up an antenna for local tv service and 2) to fix poor wifi signals. TV was converted from cable rapidly using leftover wires. Saving $ not paying for cable and streaming off wifi. Great signal strength! WiFi was harder. He worked with ATT to determine my new iMac was sucking signals. He installed a more powerful router that solved wifi issues when iMac is off. Now I have to work with Apple to figure out how to manage the computer searching. I would not hesitate to call Joe back again. He is an excellent technician and a fine person. He is pretty busy, so sometimes it takes a few days before he can come out, but he is worth the wait."

"Installation went very well. The tech was knowledgeable and professional. Problem was when I received my cc bill. I was billed the $129 Angie's List fee which was to include TV wall mount (mount not include), connect all necessary video and basic audio, neatly dress wires, configure peripheral devices, and conceal in-wall wires. And I was billed $140.49 from HELLOTECH. I'm still trying to get the $140.49 charge reversed."

"I can't say enough good things about SmartBuilders! From the estimating process all the way through the project, they were fantastic to work with.
First, the estimating process was one of the most thorough I've ever seen. Trey spent a ton of time measuring and examining the house and then gave us a very thorough review of what he thought should be done. He was really pragmatic and honest about the cost vs. benefit of various options and actually recommended not running central heat into our upstairs addition because it could be more efficiently heated with an independent wall heater, saving us on both monthly costs and installation charges. I really appreciated this because they could have made quite a bit of money on that portion of the project if we had included central heat in there. Their quote was very accurate with the majority of changes coming from items that we added after the initial quote. They also did a walk through with the owner, construction manager, electrician and client consultant and myself to make sure we were all on the same page before the work started.
The work they did was fantastic! They were on a tight timeline right around the holidays and they really went above and beyond to get everything finished up. When they started doing the electrical, we learned that our house had been built with some seriously over-engineered bracing systems so getting wires through the walls involved way more drilling than originally planned. Not only did they power through it, they didn't charge us extra for the extra work required. They did a great job of communicating the project status and checking in on details.
They also went above and beyond in taking care of the house. They even refinished an area of the floor where the tape from the paper they had put down to protect the floors removed the finish (which was super old and starting to come up anyway) and cut replacement tiles to match original 1940's tile from my kitchen. The workers were all really great - incredibly knowledgeable (and willing to explain what they were doing), efficient, pleasant and really patient with my dog who was underfoot for part of the project. The work has been fabulous!! Our house is warm, quiet and all of the electrical is up to code and works way better than it did before (we actually have overhead lights and more than one outlet per room). They did a great job of thinking about how we would use the space and doing little things that really make a difference.
This is a team and a company that really takes pride in their work and in making clients happy and it shows. They went above and beyond in making sure everything was perfect and that we were happy. A specific example that sums up our experience with them is how they handled a small issue. On the day the rough electrical was due for inspection the city building inspector cancelled the appointment and, due to the Christmas holiday, couldn't reschedule for several days later. Since we were on a pretty aggressive timeline, those lost days meant work wouldn't be completed by our original move-in date. It was completely out of their control but they bent over backwards to make it work for us. They offered to work around movers and all of our stuff and even to put us up in a hotel at their expense so we didn't have to live with all of the chaos for those few days. We didn't end up taking them up on the offer because it was easier to just shift the move date but I really appreciated how much they were willing to do (especially since the delay was not their fault). Amazing service and work!
Although they have a specialization in energy efficient heating, they are general contractors who do a ton of other work. I had such a great experience that I'll be calling them for a kitchen remodel and some foundation work in the future. I seriously can't recommend them enough!!

"I had a great experience with this company. Edgar provided a detailed estimate, kept me informed all along the way and did a tidy professional installation. I would not hesitate to use him on my next project. I will recommend to all my friends that they, at least, get an estimate from Brains Automation."

"Manny was pleasant and helpful when I frantically called him on a Sunday morning. My satellite went out effecting every receiver in the house and I had a guest coming over to watch the gold medal round hockey game at noon! Within three hours someone was at my house and within 30 minutes; problem identified and solved! His technicians were fast, courteous and knew exactly what to do. I highly recommend West Coast Technicians."

Tv Antenna Installation questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $100 to $500, depending on the issue, parts needed, and labor.

The cost to repair your TV antenna is around $200 for the average homeowner. However, charges could be as low as $60 or as high as $450. Factors such as multidirectional or unidirectional, indoor or outdoor, and amplified or non-amplified all play an essential role in determining the cost of your repair. For example, outdoor antennas cost more on average to repair than indoor ones, much like amplified antennas cost more to repair than unamplified ones.

Before your TV antenna stops working, there are a few ways to tell it’s starting to break. Some common signs that your antenna needs repair include:

  • A repetitive “no signal” issue

  • A redundant “searching” issue

  • Increased signal issues during a cloudy or rainy day

  • A sudden drop in signal strength, regardless of the weather

If you’re experiencing these problems, you’ll want to ensure that your cables are still in good shape and have not deteriorated. In addition, check to make sure that your cables are firmly in place at the wall outlet. Finally, check the position of your antenna to ensure there are no obstructions in its path. If you’ve checked your antenna thoroughly and are still having these problems, a repair is most likely needed by an antenna technician.

Yes, they assess geographic and structural factors to recommend suitable models.

There aren’t any guarantees that the TV antenna you purchase and install will provide perfect reception. Much depends on your distance from broadcasting towers, any nearby obstructions, and typical weather. However, doing some research minimizes the risk of disappointment.

You can speak to neighbors to understand their setup. Various online tools allow you to check how far you are from TV transmitters in your area. The Federal Communications Commission, for example, has a tool enabling you to check local Digital TV channel reception.

Selecting the right type of antenna for your situation and having it properly positioned and installed will also increase the chances of better reception.
