"earlySolidworks Remodeling" did a backyard renovation project at my house in Tarzana , The project included: concrete stamped pouring at the back of the house, fire fit installation, pavers and upgrading mt existing fountain. The guys were very professional, they came early every morning nice and polite, at the end of each day they make sure that everything is clean before they are leaving. The duration of the project was as promised to us by Leo the project manager and the result its just fantastic! I feel like I bought a completely new house"

"I had mixed feelings about this company. Some of the work they did was fantastic. I love my new kitchen, the design is beautiful. Everyone was very punctual and professional and the job finished on schedule. The tiles were put in well but some caulking was missing which has caused issues around the sink.

Most of my issues involved the painters that the company hired for another job in a rental property I own. They accidently threw away a medicine cabinet that I needed to return, breaking the mirror. They did reimburse me for it, but it was a mistake that shouldn't have occured. The painting work seemed rushed.

I do think that this company is a bit expensive. If I had to do this work again I would double check to see what was included. I felt like I paid for extras, out of pocket, that should have been covered by the contractors."

"not that great. basically paid $99 to get an estimate. included cleaning roof and minimal repairs. took a while to get appointment, and then when they came, they didn't even do the work! gave a really big estimate and then re-seheduled to have someone else do the work. they wouldn't totally replace the roof, gave different estimates to repair, I went with a different company to do a full roof rplacement."

"It went very well.  They were here when they said there would be here and finished when they said they would be done.... 3 days.  They were neat and cleaned up very well.  The wall patches were done well too.  After completion, there was a drip at an outside joint.  When we called, they came right out and fixed it.  We have had no problems since.

"Initial 4/26/22 review: Allstar Rooter (AKA Davila Plumbing) is most definitely a class act! When a significant slab leak started in my home, I contacted Allstar via Thumbtack. Manny contacted me within an hour that evening and came out the next morning to assess the situation and provide an estimate. I could tell at that very instant that Allstar is the right answer for my emergency/unanticipated plumbing need. Manny was very professional and very straight forward in providing options and recommendations. I was particularly impressed with his troubleshooting skills, as he immediately got right to the (not-so-obvious) problem had great insight into the BEST solution. He was also very honest about his work and pricing (not the cheapest nor most expensive but will do a high-quality job and make sure it gets done right) - very competent and trustworthy. He stands behind his work with a 25-year warranty on all newly-installed plumbing. After Manny and I discussed the situation, we very quickly settled on having Allstar Rooter repipe the house, as we mutually decided that jack-hammering the concrete and repairing the leak would only be sending good money after bad, in that the existing plumbing was obviously already "shot". Many and his team (all plumbers, not just "helpers") showed up the next morning and immediately got on the job, and they completed this extensive effort in less than a week! I was immediately impressed with their rapid decisions on how to best re-route the cold, hot, and hot recirculation lines, and the materials to use - a significant upgrade from the builder's design, materials, and workmanship. They did the work with great skill and surprisingly minimal intrusion - just a few openings in the drywall here and there - no cutting into cabinets, tile, etc. Once all plumbing work was completed and everything proved to be in great working order, Manny brought in his drywall team of three. I was completely blown away by how well they repaired the holes/openings that were necessary to complete the work. I honestly could not tell which areas were repaired because their patchwork and surface texturing is an EXACT match to the existing drywall - even better than the work my top-notch remodeling contractor did in other parts of the house a year ago. Throughout the entire period, Many and his team kept me informed of their progress, and they were consistently most responsive to my questions and requests - a true and total pleasure to work with! Hence, if I could give Allstar Rooter a "10", I would, as Manny & tram have significantly exceeded my expectations. I will conclude by saying that I would STRONGLY recommend Allstar Rooter to anyone. I know that, when I need new plumbing work done, I will immediately go directly to Manny – no need to shop around. Thank you, Manny and team - you have all turned what started out as a traumatic experience (burst pipe/no water) into a very pleasant experience and happy ending. 5/12/22 Update: It has been a little over 2 weeks since Allstar completed the repiping of my entire house, and my prior top rating and review definitely stand! Everything is working flawlessly, and we're amazed at the efficiency of the new pipe routing versus what the builder had in place ~28 years ago. The water pressure and volume are very consistent throughout the house. Also, upon turning on any hot water faucet, the water heats up in a matter of seconds! This may sound rudimentary, but we had always relied heavily on the recirculatory pump to get hot water to the kitchen sink and showers without having to run the water for several minutes. I also recently asked Manny to come out for some additional follow/on work such as installing a bathtub spout/divider, shower head, and cut-off valves to the clothes washing machine. Manny promptly and cheerfully came out and quickly replaced the spout and shower head. He also quickly exercised/ repaired the cut-offs, thereby alleviating the need to replace them and saving money. Our complete satisfaction with the prior repiping/drywall work, which far exceeded our expectations, coupled with Manny's recent visit, have galvanized my earlier decision to make Allstar Rooter/Davila Plumbing my trusted "go to" contractor for all current and future plumbing needs. Thank you Manny for all that you do!!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

The average cost of excavation is approximately $3,200, with typical projects ranging from $500 to $15,000. Depending on the contractor, you may be charged between $50 and $200 per cubic yard or an hourly rate of $40 to $180 for an excavation specialist. The total cost is influenced by several factors, including the project size, the amount of soil to be removed, and the soil's condition. Hard soil, tree roots, or excessive rocks and clay can increase the price, potentially adding $200 to $1,200 to the final bill. Other factors that can drive up costs include the presence of nearby structures that complicate the work or tight spaces that require manual excavation instead of heavy machinery.

If you don’t have a crawl space but have a partial basement you want to make deeper, you can expect to spend a little less—between $40,000 and $90,000 on average. However, if you’re not adding new finished square footage, you won’t see much in the way of ROI.

A trench that is less than 5 feet deep often doesn't require a protective system. Most residential trenches will not go this deep (the typical residential drainage trench is just 18 inches deep). In the event that an excavator needs to dig more than 5 feet beneath the surface, a protective system is required unless the excavation is in entirely stable rock.

You can dig 60 to 80 linear feet by hand per day depending on the depth. Digging a 100-foot trench by hand will take you two work days, but it can take longer if you have heavy or rocky soil. If you’re digging a deep trench or one that’s over 100 feet, consider renting a mechanical trencher, such as a walk-behind or ride-on, or calling a pro for help.

There is no standard depth for burying a septic tank; they are typically buried anywhere from 4 inches to 4 feet underground. The final depth depends on several factors, including the depth of your main sewer line, the height of the bedrock, soil type, local regulations, and the property's landscape. If you plan to grow grass or plants over the tank, a depth of at least 4 to 6 inches is recommended. Deeper tanks can be more difficult to locate, but a septic professional can help find it for you.
