"Absolutely In love with the work that was done at my place! The result was even better then i had imagined, I had my bathroom and kitchen done. I have always been terrified of contractors as in the past I was ripped off, but this is not the case they communicated with me every step of the way and made this an enjoyable experience for me. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to remodel or have work done in there home! Thank you again to US Home Developers Inc you guys did an incredible job"

"I received 3 bids for this project.  From the very first interview with Roei, a partner I was impressed with his ability to advise on some ideas to save money and make the kitchen more efficient, he was very professional and never pushed me.   I hired him to start 7/31/13, he quoted 2 weeks, and it was completed in 2 weeks, and the cost was as quoted.   This was one of the best renovation experiences I have had in the 40 yrs I have lived in this house.   All the workers, were polite, on time, cleaned up after, and did really good work.  I would hire Best Builders again for any home projects and recommend them highly to anyone else looking for a good experience in renovating any part of their home.

"Staining was completed first and it looks wonderful. The worker was punctual, professional and answered any questions I had on the process and future maintenance. We ran into a few delays on the lattice patio construction, but this was the fault with the city. Jeff and his team met us at the city's building code office and helped us with the issues we had regarding the building permit. Once the plans had been approved, the job was completed without any issues. The first team to arrive was the patio construction team and they worked with me regarding the minor last minute changes and the structure was completed in two days and looks exactly as we envisioned. The follow-up team came and completed the minor stucco patch and electrical work and everything works without a fault. The team was kind enough to patch a few pre-existing cracks in the stucco. All in all, our experience with Jeff at Patios by B&B was excellent. He listened to our needs and was easily accessible during the duration of the project. Most important are the construction teams that we dealt with during the project. All were excellent people who treated the project like it was their own. They were always professional and displayed an attention to detail that I expected. Our experience was very positive and we would definitely recommend Patios by B&B to anyone ."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can technically make a crawl space liveable, but the only way to do so is by converting it into a basement. While some crawl spaces are big enough to walk through and store large items, they lack appropriate insulation and space to be liveable.

The best method for digging a trench depends on the scope of the project. For a short, shallow trench (less than 2 feet deep) in light, soft soil, digging by hand may be sufficient. However, digging by hand is labor-intensive, so consider the effort required. A machine trencher is the better option for longer trenches (over 100 feet), deeper ones, or when dealing with difficult soil conditions, such as rocky or hard ground, or obstructions like tree roots. A machine can save significant time and energy in these situations.

Concrete blocks are the cheapest way to base a shed. However, the space in between allows critters to go under, burrow, and even damage your shed’s frame. For a more pest-proof option, consider building a shed base with gravel or paver stones. Both options are fairly affordable and easy enough for a DIY project. For gravel, you can build a wooden frame to contain the loose material.

You can dig 60 to 80 linear feet by hand per day depending on the depth. Digging a 100-foot trench by hand will take you two work days, but it can take longer if you have heavy or rocky soil. If you’re digging a deep trench or one that’s over 100 feet, consider renting a mechanical trencher, such as a walk-behind or ride-on, or calling a pro for help.

Slab foundations are more affordable than crawl spaces because they require minimal excavation, as the slab sits directly on the ground or on footers that only sink a few feet into the ground. Crawl spaces require excavation of the entire footprint of the home to several feet below the surface. Not only does that mean higher labor costs, but more materials are necessary for the concrete foundation walls.
