Communication was very clear and he knew exactly what to do for all 3 of my jobs 1st he patched the holes in my drywall and textured it came out perfect. 2nd he installed a new ceiling fan now issues what so ever. The he was able to install the new front screen door that was supposed to fit but he made it work and he even had to manufacture a piece of wood to close a small fan…(it came out soooo good!) My wife and I are very happy with his professionalism and the detail in his work. Thank you Douglas for a job well done."

"We had been wanting to install additional shelving in our kitchen and bathroom since we moved in. After getting quotes from a couple different people we went with Nest Works. Robyn was professional, knowledgeable and quick. He matched our existing shelving perfectly and maximized the space for us. We LOVE our new shelves!! "While Michael the owner was responsive when it came to the actual scheduled job he sent a much junior technician whom I certainly did not expect because he did not tell me. They were supposed to contact me before he showed up but there was no advance call, luckily I was home at the time. The tech did his job and was about to just leave without showing/telling me about how it works or what he installed. I had to ask him about the installation so I can be sure I knew how the equipment operated and if there's anything I needed to know about the install. In the end my opinion is the attic fan was a waste of money and my time. We don't notice any difference in the interior temperature of our house when it's hot. When I inquired about a refund (within 30 days of the install), Michael said he would offer $89 refund for the equipment and not the install. And to think if I didn't use Angie's list, this would have cost me several more hundred dollars. An expensive lesson learned!

"They were very professional. Arrived on time and explained what they were going to do. They were very careful with my belongings and cleaned before and after installation. They were polite and very knowledgeable about the process and the end product was outstanding. I would highly recommend this company to anyone."

"First, the pros:
1.  The workmanship on the roof itself was very good.  We have had several significant rainfalls and no issue with leakage.
2.  The overall cost was competitive, and in fact slightly lower than other bids received.
3.  The company was willing to work with us on an installment plan that made it easier for us to pay for the new roof.
There were, however, several issues we had with Octagon:
1. The project took longer than anticipated (about 3 weeks in total).  Some of this was due to extreme heat during the first stages of the project, but even after accounting for these days it still took about a week longer than anticipated.  It took numerous phone calls with the owner to finally get a larger crew on site to finish the work in a timely manner.
2. Overall, the owner was not very communicative during the project.  It took a lot of proactive phone calls to get updates on the schedule, additional costs, etc.  The owner rarely visited the work site, instead relying on a foreman.
3.  We had an issue with fascia boards that were installed poorly and not painted to match the white trim of the house.  Ultimately the owner agreed to fix the boards and paint them, but only after repeated calls and us withholding final payment.

George  was very personable and showed respect for my age which I appreciated.  He cleaned off the roof as well and ran water through the gutters to be sure the down spouts were clear.  He also did some clean up of leaves blown in around my garbage cans to fill out his four hour period I was paying for.  I will use him again for handyman jobs.
