KQ's Window Screen Women, is a business run by two hard working, passionate women, Connie Kehle and Kristina Quinones. So you might be asking yourself; Why are they in the screen business? For Kris she is transitioning out of the fire service and wants to continue to work. As a bonus she gets a good night’s sleep as there are too many sleepless nights as a firefighter. Connie feels she has built many businesses for others over the years and wants to pour her passion and professionalism into building her own business that we can be proud of and pass on to our four children. Combined as a team we offer the perfect combination of detail orientated, quick, efficient and professional service. Please note, we do not do any window repair or replacement. We only re-screen window screens, fabricate new screens, install in-screen dog doors, security, swinging, sliding and disappearing screen doors.

"The team at Window Sceen Women are the best and most affordable screen replacement company in the business! They arrived on time, explained everything in detail and replaced my damaged screens with the highest quality screen materials. "

"He came just as my garbarge disposal broke and went to Lowes to get another and installed it that day. He saved the day for me. Water was leaking under disposal. I would like to get his contractors licence #."

Handyman Services, I have a lot of experience in many things. Electrical is my strong points, but very competent on plumbing, faucets, toilets, water heaters, indoor painting, ring cameras and door bells, wall tv’s, garage hanging racks

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Installing a basement window generally takes a few hours, assuming there are no structural issues you need to resolve first. If you’re a novice DIYer, the project could take longer; on the flip side, a licensed and trained window contractor may be able to replace multiple basement windows in the time it takes a homeowner to replace one.

Yes, you can replace the screen without removing the door in most cases depending on the frame holding the screen. Doors with removable spline and screen frames make it a snap to replace the mesh while the door remains in place. The best part is that it’s a simple DIY project requiring a few tools in addition to the screen material.

Professionals clean window screens the same way a homeowner can—by removing the screens and cleaning them with a sponge. A window cleaning pro may come with better equipment, like a high powered wet/dry vacuum or pressure washer to speed up the process and achieve a deeper clean.

The screen material you choose depends on your needs. Here are some differences to consider:

  • Fiberglass is the least expensive but needs replacing more often.

  • Aluminum suits almost any job and doesn’t stretch as easily as fiberglass.

  • Pet-resistant screens are more expensive than fiberglass or aluminum, but they’re also wind and weather-resistant.

  • Metal screens, like stainless steel, are the most expensive material for rescreening your porch or sunroom. However, they last for years and are golf ball-resistant.

Awning windows can have screens, but it depends on your manufacturer. If your awning window does have a screen, it will be on the interior side so it doesn’t get in the way when you crank the window open. Having the screen on the inner part of the window also makes it easier to clean from inside your home.
