"His tag line says “The plumbers, plumber” and now he is my “personal plumber” His knowledge, skills, and work ethic are unparalleled and some of the best I have seen. A true artisan of his craft and he cares about his customers. If you want a quality job at a fair price, Stephen is the only choice. I have multiple properties (including one in Palm Springs & one in Las Vegas) and he is the only plumber I will use. If you need a referral, I am happy to discuss my experience my with you."

"It went well. The plumber solved our drain problem and answered our questions, including noting our hot water heater was still functioning adequately and did not need replacement at this time."

"Rick and his crew turned an outdated kitchen torn up after underground pipe repairs into the nicest room in the house. I went into it just wanting functionality back, quickly, and came out admiring every aspect of the craftmanship and attention to detail. To boot, they were some of the kindest, most polite workers I have ever had in my home, for anything."

"Plumber of Tucson was very responsive when other local plumbers were not. They arrived at our agreed-upon time, were extremely professional and very friendly. Dan and Chris kindly put on shoe protectors and walked through the various repairs with me and quickly gave me a quote of cost, which I agreed to and they immediately took care of. I also asked them to give me a quote for the more troubling autofill leak under the pool flagstone where PVC pipe had been installed by a landscaping company. Dan recommended a much less expensive fix than tearing up large chunks of the flagstone and the gas grill island. The quote came when promised and Dan and Matt showed up as agreed and immediately set to work. I had asked if they try to save as much of the flagstone that they reasonably could. No promises. To my delight, Matt was able save large pieces of the flagstone so that they could be reset. They left the work area very clean and remove all debris and carefully stacked the flagstone for reinstallation. The trench to replace the line was minimal, and Dan's solution worked. I would absolutely ask Plumber of Tucson to bid on both smaller repairs and larger jobs. Their attention to detail -- from the job to their equipment to their commitments -- was refreshing and very professional."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

The biggest sign that your flange leaks is if you notice water at the base of the toilet. The cause is likely due to a poor flange installation, so you might have issues with loose bolts, an uneven flange, or a cracked plastic flange. Add a deteriorating wax seal to this, and you have a recipe for disaster. The best solution is to shut off the water valve, replace the toilet flange, and seal it with a new wax ring.

Yes, it’s necessary to have a sink drain stopper. While your sink will still work without a stopper, a stopper is necessary to keep things other than water from going down into your pipes and potentially clogging them. It prevents plumbing problems by keeping out unwanted debris and objects like hair, soap, toothpaste, dirt, and jewelry.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

The best place for a kitchen sink drain is the middle of the sink. Most people prefer center drains because they allow for better water and waste drainage, and the center location limits splashing because water flows straight down the drain hole. If the sink drain is too close to the edge of the sink, water can collect and drain too slowly. It can also be easier to clean sinks when the drain is closer to the center since debris is easier to wash down and doesn’t collect along the sides as easily.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.
