"Without a hitch. Nester arrived each day as scheduled. Polite, clean well mannered fellow. Very likable. All work performed on schedule. Great paint job. Tight lines, no mess. Staining of the wood doors came out outstanding. Another professional job and again, no mess. Price was very reasonable. Would hire again. Happy about the entire project."

"I hired the AZ Painting Co to repaint the exterior of my small stucco home. They also replaced some rotting wood and power washed a small stain on my block wall. At the time they were offering a 10% discount. I thought they did a great job, worked quickly and efficiently and I would definitely hire them again!"

"I would have to give Bryan and Vista painting an A+++. I could not have been more pleased with sthe professionalism of Bryan, the speed of the job and how quickly they scheduled it, as well as the quality of work. On top of all of this, the price was well below other quotes and what I had expected to pay. VERY HAPPY WITH VISTA PAINTING!"

"Luis has removed all the popcorn ceilings and painted every room in our house starting in the summer of 2009.  Up until this last project everything went smoothly. I picked out what I thought was a very pale green for our living room and dining room. When it was finished it looked like mint ice cream.  Needless to say that's not what I wanted. Over the next 2-3 weeks I had painted over 30 samples of colors of what I thought I might want which changed from a green to an off white. What was in the sample jars was not what it looked like on the walls. Finally Luis came over to look and we decided what might work.  I guess the green made all the samples not look what they should.  But the final outcome is perfect.  He even painted baseboards because the next project is having new flooring put down.  Now that the whole house is done I suppose at some point we will have to start over and I will certainly call Luis again. The total cost,of course, included the repainting.

"The owner, Alex, responded to request for a bit quickly and saved us some $$ in the mix. The work crew was very professional, and polite and did a great job of masking windows and etc., prepping for painting. The job went smoothly. Nice and "neat!" We are very satisfied with the results. They also used quality Dunn Edwards Ever Shield Paint, which is high quality paint material. Good job Wildcat!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I highly recommend Edd's & Co. Our house is approx 4800 SF stucco/wood trim and we did a full exterior re-paint. Edd and his crew arrived on the day he promised and completed the job by the end of the week as promised. The quality of the work was excellent. Clean lines, no spills or drips. His crew seems like they have been with him for a while as they all work well together. Very courteous. When done, they put everything back together, including our patio, cleaned up all taping, drop clothes and any overspray on the ground. On final walkthrough - no issues. Will be working with them again when we do some interior painting this fall."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

It is not always necessary to remove old stain before restaining a deck. If the previous stain is in good condition and is compatible with the new stain, you may be able to apply a new coat after thorough cleaning. However, if the old stain is in bad condition, flaking, or peeling, it is best to remove it completely to ensure an even surface and proper adhesion for the new coat. Staining over a damaged layer can lead to an uneven finish and poor penetration. For best results, test a small area first and consult the stain manufacturer's guidelines.

Rags used with oil-based stains are highly flammable and can spontaneously combust in the right conditions. To reduce the fire risk, throw them in a metal container after use and add rocks on top to secure them. Add an inch of water and seal the container. Take the rags in the container to a hazardous waste factory as soon as possible.

It’s best to use an exterior latex acrylic paint to promote maximum adhesion to composite decking. This flexible paint type can better cope with the natural expansion and contraction that can occur with composite deck boards. Oil-based paints won’t adhere as effectively and are more likely to crack and peel as the boards flex. Testing whether your chosen paint will stick on an inconspicuous section or a spare board is a good idea.

Limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces if you apply them correctly. Use on non-suitable surfaces can cause issues. For instance, applying limewash or whitewash to surfaces with existing sealants or incompatible materials may lead to poor adhesion or flaking. Also, harsh cleaning agents on limewashed or whitewashed surfaces can damage the finish. Proper preparation, application, and maintenance ensure that limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces.

Yes, it is generally a very good idea to seal your deck after pressure washing. Power washing removes not only dirt and debris but also a thin layer of wood, leaving the surface exposed and more susceptible to weathering. Sealing is almost always needed after this process. After a general cleaning, sealing isn't automatically necessary if the existing sealant is still intact. You can test the surface by placing a few drops of water on it. If the water beads up, the sealant is working. If it soaks into the wood, it's time to apply a new sealant. If it has been a few years, it's wise to remove the old sealant, wash the deck, and reseal for maximum protection.
