"First of all, I appreciated that a certified arborist was on our job. We have two beautiful trees in our front yard that needed to be trimmed, thinned and shaped. I appreciated that all of the workers were easy to communicate with and that their service truck looked like someone cared about their image. Attention to details like this gave me assurance that my trees would receive the same attention to detail. I especially liked that an actual, pleasant person answers the phone. If you have trees you care about, call Tree Logic!"

"Jack Hurndon, estimator, quoted us for services on Monday. He answered all our questions/concerns. He was excellent. Monday afternoon appointments for trimming and soil injection were made for the next day. Tuesday all services were done in a professional manner. Kelly, bio feed specialist was very informative regarding the important of after service care. Moses was excellent as a trimmer and his team worked together to assist him. They cleaned up the yard and made sure the street/yard was in the same condition they found it. I was very impressed with the Chip Off The Old Block team. Plan on using them again next year."

"Overall very well. The scheduling was great at first then there were a couple of changes one was due to illness. I did have flexibility so it worked out.

"Our citrus trees are old and never had proper care. We're quite happy with CDC Tree Service. This company was very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. They took the time to show us what was causing problems for our citrus trees and teach us how to care for them as well. I would recommend CDC Tree Service Tree Service to anyone."

"David was excellent, he was prompt returning my calls and arrived exactly when he said he would to do the work. He advised me my tree was in good shape and really didn't need anything now but should be trimmed before the monsoons. I decided to have him trim the tree now and I feel his price was fair and I would definitely recommend Elder Tree. David is very knowledgeable and I am so glad I found someone to care for our trees!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

The best plan of action for an unhealthy or unsafe tree will depend on its condition. An arborist can recommend whether trimming or removal is the right call for your tree. Preventive tree trimming can keep trees safe and healthy, so make regular tree trimming a part of your yard maintenance plan.

Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump. However, you need to drill holes or cut into the stump and surface tree roots to inject them properly with the salt. Repeat the process every two weeks until the roots visibly rot away.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

While trees can grow in the curb strip between the sidewalk and the street, this placement often poses the problem of interfering with overhead power lines. It’s best to consult your local utility provider and tree planting service before transplanting a tree that might grow into power lines. Also, you should never work within 20 feet of a live power line to avoid the risk of electric shock. Tree branches should never touch nearby power lines, so it’s essential to ensure your tree isn’t in danger of growing too close to them.
