"Everything went super well. Al and 3 of his assistants uninstalled a failed solar water heater and installed a new water heater. He and his assistants removed the old, outdated solar panel from the roof and repaired all holes in the wall left from the old solar water heater. He upgraded the new one at no charge and charged even less than the estimate when he got it cheaper. Next he installed a brand new, professional quality garbage disposal to replace one poorly installed from a different company that had failed after only a couple years. He and his assistants were very friendly, very comfortable to have in the home with us and our 3 dogs, and they were very proficient and detailed in the service. He's the best plumber I have come across in the 30 years we have owned the home. We will only use him for our plumbing needs in the future. "

"We’ve had Clear Water Concepts for decades and always had great service. Matt, the owner, retired and passed the baton to his son-in-law who is very helpful and friendly. This week, we had our annual maintenance done by Tech Troy Greenwood. He arrived on time and got everything checked out and changed our filters quickly. I would recommend Clear Concepts and Troy Greenwood."
"He was very timely. The price was great. We got a really good deal on hauling away the soft water unit. They were very quick and did the job properly."
"Ray is very knowledgeable on water systems and listen to all of our needs He advised us on a complete system that addressed those needs for a price that bear the price of any other system I found His installation was impeccable and explanation of the system understandable. I would recommend him to anyone looking for water systems."
"We have had a Kinetico system in every house we've owned in Arizona since 1982. This is our 4th and it's a necessity for the water in Arizona. We have never had a problem with any of the Kinetico systems and they are a work-horse when it comes to durability. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to what you deserve."
"I always enjoy supporting local companies over big named ones. And I am so glad we did this time around especially! Not only is their Maverick Water System exceeding our expectations, but the installer was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Truly did a great job! 100% would recommend!!!"

Whether you need a license or permit for water softener installation depends on your location. Some municipalities require the installer to hold a plumbing license, while others may only require a permit and an inspection. In some cases, both a permit and a licensed installer are necessary, and some areas have no requirements at all. Often, only certified plumbers and electricians are allowed to pull the necessary permits. To find out the specific regulations in your area, you can contact your local building department. Alternatively, a local water softener installer or plumber will be familiar with the requirements and can typically pull the permits for you. Regardless of local laws, it is always recommended to hire a licensed professional to ensure the system is sized and installed correctly. You can use tools like Angi’s state licensing tool to verify an installer's license status.
Soft water is better for your hair. The minerals in hard water can dry out hair, make it brittle, and leave a film on the hair and scalp that may cause irritation. Hard water also doesn't rinse out shampoo and conditioner effectively, which can lead to product buildup that makes hair look dull and limp. You may also find you need to use more shampoo to get a good lather in hard water.
If your water softener repair is fairly straightforward, like a simple filter replacement, then you can probably do it yourself with little risk. However, anything beyond a simple fix should be addressed by someone with extensive plumbing expertise to avoid costly water softener problems, like leaks.
That said, even simple problems can be complicated to diagnose, particularly if your water softener is attached to a whole-house treatment system. So, unless you feel absolutely certain that the problem is an easy fix that you can take on yourself, it's probably best to hire a plumber to diagnose and fix the problem.
A good hardness level for drinking water can vary based on personal preferences, but an ideal level is 3.5 to 7 GPG. This means your water isn’t soft or hard. However, some people prefer the “fresh” taste from the minerals in hard water, while others like the smoother, “slippery” texture of soft water.
The chemicals in a water softener can wear down the anode rod in the heater and shorten its life span. However, for most people, the benefits of the softener outweigh this potential drawback.
Have a plumber inspect the anode rod annually for damage, as replacing the anode rod is far less expensive than replacing the entire water heater.
