"I recently installed a 2 ton mini split AC in my garage and wanted to insulate the enclosed peaked roof attic area of about 550 sqft. I was going to do it myself with the HD blow in insulation and rental blower but decided to get a few quotes. East Valley was only a few hundred dollars more than doing it myself. Communication was great, price was great, the two-person crew showed up on time with a 1/2-hour courtesy call beforehand, when they arrived, they verified the project and square footage I gave them, they laid down a plastic sheet on the driveway to protect the drive, parked their box van and went to work, took about 45 minutes beginning to finish. Cleaned up and left- the crew was awesome and super friendly, polite and courteous. I would recommend East Valley Insulation to anyone"

Kasi is a local, family-owned and operated spray foam insulation contractor. We service Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott, and northern Arizona. Two brothers, Patrick and Paul Kariniemi, founded Kasi in 2010. Prior to starting Kasi, Patrick spent ten years with a spray foam roofing company in Phoenix and Paul was an industrial construction contractor in Minnesota. Although we’ve tested nearly every foam insulation product available in Arizona, we’ve only purchased foam from a few suppliers. We have an 11-year long relationship with our injected foam manufacturer and a five year long relationship with our spray foam supplier. Since each foam insulation product has its own application characteristics, we’ve found that you have a lot fewer problems by sticking with reputable manufacturers who stand behind their products. As a result, our technicians are experts in the products they install.\n\n

"I called to set up a free consultation and was promptly met at the agreed upon time. We discussed my desires and how to achieve my project goals. I was given a quote and agreed upon the price for the garage work to be done the following week when I was free. The spray foam and "drill and fill" have been awesome! I have a 24K BTU AC unit in the garage that was unable to keep the temps low as there was so much heat in the garage all day. After the insulation was done it can hold the temps at 70F in the garage while barely turning on during the day. The attic above the garage tops out at 85F when it was over 110F outside, just amazing. We had them do a home energy audit and found that there were plenty of leaky areas in the attic and the insulation was 15 years old and about an R-10 level. It needed some serious work so we agreed to have it topped off with new fiberglass insulation. The guys came out and did and amazing job bringing me up to R-39 as well as keeping the house very clean while doing it. On both days they cleaned up after themselves and took great care of my house. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone that could use more insulation!"

"Outstanding service and affordable. Provided before & after pictures for future reference. Also left a permanent measuring stick in attic to show depth of new insulation. Polite young men cleaned up after completion. Highly recommend."

"They installed fiberglass blown in insulation into the cavity in our Arizona room ceiling. The two workmen were proficient and careful. That resulted in a job well done. I would recommend this company. Gil the estimator carefully explained the process and the costs to our satisfaction."

".The work was good but took 2 days to complete due to the availability of his assistants.  The process is extremely messy however and suggest you cover everything when the job is being completed.  He was very courteous and through.  Make sure to mention if you are a senior as he gives a discount.  This is a young company and privately owned so Shawn is eager to make you happy.  My house is approximately 1480 sq ft and the other quote I received was for $500.00. That was only for the blown in insulation and  not all the AC duct work repair."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Garage doors that are not insulated can be a major source of heat loss. That’s why it’s essential to winterize your garage door with insulation and weather stripping to prevent heat loss and keep it warm more easily. Consult a local garage door installer if you need help determining the cause of your garage losing heat.

Insulation prevents heat transfer, which keeps your home cool in summer and warm in winter. Regulating the temperature in your home is not only more comfortable for you, but will lower your heating and cooling bills—it’s a win-win. Make sure to determine the correct amount of insulation to ensure it is enough for your home and climate.

Canned spray foam has an R-value of R-3.7 per inch. However, it’s not great for use as insulation. Also known as single-component spray foam, it doesn’t expand as much as two-part types that work for insulating the whole house. Save the canned foam for gaps around doors and windows.

Yes, you should insulate your copper pipes to help regulate their temperature. Well-insulated copper pipes will be protected from freezing and can conserve energy by keeping hot water warm for longer. Foam rubber insulation tubes are the best pipe insulation to prevent freezing since they fit tightly around the pipes while still maintaining some flexibility.

If the outside temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it will take around six hours for your pipes to freeze—and they might even burst. That’s why keeping your mobile home’s temperature around 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary, even if you’re leaving it vacant for the winter. In addition, having ample skirting around the mobile home's underbelly will help keep pipes insulated during the winter.
