"Jimi is congenial, knowledgeable, and his quoted price was reasonable. The work that was supposed to be done in less than 2 months, took 5 months. Most of the work was done pretty well. However, 2 major issues, both of which required extensive followup. As other reviewers have said, Jimi says he will show up and doesn't, makes a lot of promises he doesn't keep. First problem, master shower threshold tile was laid sloping in wrong direction so that water flowed out of the shower into the bathroom and bedroom. Despite repeated calls and promises to fix the issue, it was not addressed for 7 months, and only after threat to call Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Second major problem, plumbing under kitchen sink was done incorrectly with the drain set too low so that water barely can escape. Have had several significant floodings in the kitchen as a result. Another plumber said I was looking at over $1,000 to completely redo the plumbing and to remove/replace drywall to access the plumbing. Now I also probably have mold issues. 4-5 months later Jimi still won't come fix the problem, even though he admitted that he fired the plumber who was originally on my job during the middle of the job because he was incompetent. I cannot recommend 1st Choice Surfaces and I believe you will have the same problem with reliability and communication that has been cited by several reviewers and myself."

"Antelope springs basically took on the job of finishing my house. All the guys that came to my house, including sub contractors were awesome and professional. I am very picky so I do see things that weren't completed the way I would (paint). However every time I asked for something they bent over backwards to make it happen. This was a difficult remodel because we were living in the house while even the walls had to be installed. They worked around us and were very patient when we were in the way or had family here. John, Curtis, Robin and yes Larry too :) were just great to work with. Thank you Paul for everything you have helped me with too."

Fred is personable, communicates well, timely (keeps his project schedule commitments), affordable, and, most importantly, produces top quality results. We were fortunate to find Fred after interviewing several contractors for a major renovation project on a home we recently purchased in Hassayampa. Fred is very â hands-on,â completing most of the work himself (i.e., very few, if any, subs). He frequently updates you on progress and seeks your input on materials and design considerations. Fred is relatively new to the Prescott area (having been here about one year), but he is not new to construction. He has years of experience, including running his own business in Thousand Oaks, CA. I canâ t think of anything Fred isnâ t capable of handling. He has a wide array of talents and skills.
