"Full Spectrum Contracting, LLC exceeded my expectations in all areas, from professionalism and quality of work to thoughtfulness and consideration. Without question, this team was and is a perfect fit for me making the process easy. For someone like me, unfamiliar with the world of contracting, this partnership felt custom built. Knowing I can trust Full Spectrum Contracting, LLC and my positive experience, it led to scheduling 2 additional projects for the first of the year. Thanks FSC Wonderful work ! PS- it is the little things, taking a can of WD-40 out of the truck, fixing a knob because you notice it was sticking - just because that's FULL SPECTRUM CONTRACTING, LLC! I felt supported, not just a name on an invoice."

"Our kitchen came out beautiful. Rob was a pleasure to work with. He was very helpful with his suggestions and recommendations with the remodel and was a pleasure to work with. He was very helpful in picking out the granite countertops and cabinets. Joe was also helpful with his suggestions. Communication could have been better at times and the cabinets took much longer to arrive because we ordered a special cabinet for a coffee bar. The sub contractors did not always show up as scheduled. We are thrilled with the remodel as the new kitchen and would recommend Joe and his crew to do your kitchen remodel."

"It turned out well. I liked the fact that they were young people but very professional. It was a really good deal. It cost less than buying the stuff at Lowe's and paying someone to install it."

"We Hired Zsolt Vegh to do a full kitchen renovation. New cabinets, new flooring, painting and much more, I would say his work is Flawless. When dealing with Zsolt I found him to be very professional and a good person to deal with. Vegh Contracting was very competitive with his pricing and finished his work on schedule. I would recommend for any job."

"Overall went really well Lawrence and his crew were very communicative. There will always be things that come up in a remodel and because of those things the project did push to the end of the desired timeline. Lawrence and his crew worked hard to make sure they were completed on time. I plan on using them for a kitchen remodel next year."

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

Adding an extension or addition to your home costs more than a loft conversion in all but the rarest cases where the home's structural integrity is lacking. Because a home addition requires a new foundation section or significant structural upgrades to handle a cantilevered portion, the cost compared to almost any loft conversion is significantly greater for the same square footage.

In addition to overseeing new home builds, construction managers work on large renovations and major remodels. For example, they may work with designers and oversee the construction of a finished basement, kitchen renovation, or a home addition. They may also oversee large-scale remodels, such as the update of a historic home. Construction managers step into small projects for more specific assistance, such as building budgets and compiling the team.

Yes, you can install a summer kitchen or kitchenette in your basement. They serve similar purposes as outdoor kitchens, keeping the main floor of the house cool and providing another space to cook and congregate. Basement kitchens are also a worthwhile alternative for homeowners without much space in the backyard. They come with a few logistical questions to sort out, though, like ventilation and waterproofing.

A walkout basement is considered to be partially below grade because at least one wall is entirely exposed. In some cases and in specific municipalities, inspectors and appraisers will still count walkout basements as below grade, which means the space can’t serve as living space or be rented out. If you intend on using the area as living space or a separate apartment, you should check with your local building department to make sure it’s legal to do so.
