You can cut countertops without chipping by using your saw correctly and having a new fine-toothed blade. You can also put masking tape on the front of the countertop material across the cut line and cut from front to back. Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:

  • Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining

Ideally, a pot filler should not be centered but rather installed to the left or right of the cooking surface to avoid having to reach over the hot area to access it.
