"I am always interested in what customers have to say about our company and am always frustrated if we do not meet expectations. We try very hard to educate customers on granite and what to expect. Fissures, and small pits in stone are not the fault of a granite fabricator or installer. They are very frequently found in granite and come that way from the factory and often not something that can be"fixed". We will always do the best we can to make the stone look as good as we can for our customers, but people do need to understand that we can not fix things that took God millions of years to create. I wish every job went perfectly smooth--most do, but occasionally there are minor issues that arise--we will always take care of our customer to the best of our ability."
"Well I am frustrated to see this response, and not sure how to solve this customers problem. I wish the customer would have mentioned that she chose Silestone as her product. Her installation is beautiful and the kitchen is beautiful which she will agree with and she loves her kitchen. The problem is that the Silestone developed a small crack. We brought the Silestone Representative to come out and inspect the material. Silestone will not warranty the cracks in their materials. It is something that consumers need to know about quartz products. We replaced a cracked piece, and then a year later when another small crack developed, Silestone refuses to warranty their product. So, we are left being the bad guy, though our workmanship is beautiful, everything looks wonderful, quartz products often develop cracks or fissures when hot or cold items are placed on them. I do not know if that is the cause here--I just know the facts of quartz products. I have offered to have the stone repaired, but my customer does not want a repair, only replacement. This is a difficult situation since we have performed, installed her tile backsplash for free because of the trouble , but we still lose here since Silestone will not stand behind the material. We are happy to replace it and refabricate it if they would provide the material, but they refuse at this point. We continue to seek a resolution."
1. The installer was scheduled to come and take measurements in a 1-3 pm window. He got at my house at 5:00pm.
2. They called me and set my install time at 8-9am. On the day of installation, at 9:30am they had not arrived. I called and asked if something was wrong and they told me that the install was scheduled for 1-3pm. The pulled the file and realized their mistake and got the installer at 10:36 AM.
3. After install, I paid them and they left. I looked at the sinks and 2 of the 3 sinks were not staight. I called the office and they sent the installers back to fix them.
4.I ordered a 1/8 inch overlay of the granite over the sink holes and it is written on the work order. It turned out to be 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Not what I ordered or wanted and I emphasized this several times. Scott even wrote it in big letters on the work order and they did not do it.
5. I have 7 drawers that pull out under the sinks. The granite comes so far down in the master I cannot even open one drawer and 2 others rub the granite when I open them. I will have to hire someone to lower my drawers to fit. They should have put some filler or something so the drawers would work properly.
I liked Scott, but the end result was not what I was promised and install process was stressful. They are over rated on Angies List and would not recommend to anyone. With all the installers in the Phoenix area I would use someone else and not take a chance with Stonhenge. This could happen to you.
With our first visit to the office it was apparent the employees had been versed in customer satisfaction. Often this is a reflection of what management expects of their employees. We were greeted by a friendly face and taken to view samples. This was done by a person who's job was probably more clerical than sales but it didn't leave us standing and unattended.
It didn't take long for the wife to identify the granite she wanted. After some discussion we set a time for Jim Watters to obtain measurements for a more exact estimate. Jim arrived within the agreed upon window of time. He was through in explaining the various issues, that is, where seems would be located, possible modifications to level the existing cabinetry, etc. In fact during the initial visit it appeared a support wall would need to be lowered to level the surface. We agreed upon an additional cost. When the old countertops were removed it was clear no modification was needed and the added cost was promptly refunded.
During the installation phase of the project at no time did I detect "that's good enough". Raul and his co-worker (didn't get his name) were very meticulous with fit, seams, caulking and getting our input if an option were available.
The bottom line is communications were excellent. People arrived within the agreed upon time frame. The project met our expectations.
The were right on time when they came to measure and to install the granite. The finish on the edging was great the pieces fit perfectly. They did what they said they'd do and left no mess.
I appreciated they were very transparent about their pricing and how different granites (including the one we bought somewhere else) would affect the total price too.
Would definitely recommend.
