"Great product and good price. Frank was extremely professional with regards to scoping the project and providing a solid explanation of the product. We decided to go with him because we needed a new soft water loop installed, and he was the only contractor who proposed an alternate path to getting to the unit in the garage (our water service entry is on the opposite side of the house from the garage). Plus, his data showed that his product is superior to the competition we were looking at. We did strongly recommend that he get "blue stake" certifications completed in advance of the installation, because the lines were to be buried in the ground, but he assured us that it wouldn't be necessary. So we scheduled the installation and then, after Herman spent a couple of hours trying to dig, learned that it would be necessary to use a trencher. This ultimately led to getting the blue stake certifications that we had suggested in the first place, and caused several days' delay for everyone. Herman, the installer, was always prompt, and polite, though less than friendly and evidently not well-accustomed to working in the heat. The product is great, and the price is very competitive, but we would encourage Frank and Herman to err on the side of caution and seek blue stake clearances any time the customer's project involves digging more than a few inches with a hand tool."

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. Two days later, our main unit is blowing warm air. We called to have them come out to fix it and they can't make it out for several more days. This company sold us lemon units that are already failing. We paid 21k+ to have two units that don't work. Now when we need them to come help they cannot come for several days. Very untrustworthy. Very unprofessional. Very unresponsive. Very poor value. Very poor service. If you need a company that will sell you a quality product and also will be here when you need them, then go elsewhere. If you want trash products and zero service when you need it then this is your best bet. BBB will be getting involved next. Trash company."

Yes, hybrid water heaters can be noisy — noisier than traditional water heaters. The sound they produce is often compared to the hum of a dishwasher. Its noise comes from the heat pump’s fan and compressor as they work to pull in and compress the air. While it’s not totally disruptive, especially if the unit is installed in less frequented areas, like a basement or garage, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to noise or if the unit will be placed near bedrooms or living spaces.

Typically, only a high-efficiency water heater with an inducer fan can be vented outside the house. Otherwise, your water heater needs to be installed on the inside and vented through the roof. However, certain areas may allow a standard-efficiency water heater to be vented outside. Check your local building codes to be sure.

When wondering what size of breaker for a water heater is appropriate, the majority of hot water heaters need a 30-amp, two-pole breaker. Most residential water heaters use 240 volts and between 3,500 and 5,500 watts. If your appliance matches these measurements, a 30-amp breaker is likely perfect. Owners of point-of-use water heaters using 120 volts and between 1,500 and 3,000 watts often find that a 30-amp breaker is adequate. Water heaters that use more watts than average may need a 40-amp breaker. Smaller units that use fewer watts could potentially use a 20-amp breaker.

Most hot water heater manufacturers recommend replacing the anode rod about once every three to five years. Anode rods sacrifice themselves by collecting iron, limestone, and other minerals that would otherwise corrode your hot water heater tank. This abuse wears them out long before your water heater does. Check the rod when you remove it and replace it if more than 50% of the metal has been consumed. Check the rod more frequently if you have hard water or use a water softener. 

If you have a tank-type electric water heater, it runs regularly to keep the water at the desired temperature. If you live in a home where you don’t use much hot water, it could seem wasteful to run power to heat water that you’re using infrequently. You could save some power by using a smaller tank, insulating the tank, or lowering the temperature of the water heater.
