I am a repeat customer of Affordable Plumbing AZ. This time we had noticed a decrease in our hot water output. We had them come out to take a look. I told Paul the first plumber technician that I had also noted a warm spot in our hallway. He discovered that there was a few leaks in the slab and plumbing in our guest bathroom. He recommended a leak detection company that was able to determine the leak location and recommend a fix and Affordable was able not only able to fix the next day (Thank you Richard) but changed out the old copper piping to newer PEX to avoid a repeat issue. This was especially important as it was going to be the first day of the school year for our daughter. In the end we also needed a new hot water heater but if they did not find that leak that day we could have had much worse damage than we did. I should add that when we found a hot water heater that had more of the options we wanted they were honest and told us it was even better than the ones they stocked and gave us a fair price for installation. Richard was professional, timely, did what he said he was going to do, and did not push extra services. Even when there was an issue by breaking into our stucco to try to get to some lines that did not need to happen, Affordable Plumbing made it right. The work was not cheap but the cost seemed fair for the work that was done overall. I will continue to utilize them.

They did a great job and were very professional.

They rerouted a new flexible line up from the water heated above the garage ceiling and reconnected to the hot water line in the garage wall. The leak detector located the leak, cut the openings in the drywall for Affordable Plumbing to run and connect both ends bypassing the area that was leaking. The charge for running the new line was $1575 which was high. Unfortunately, they work on a commission basis and the plumber took advantage of an emergency situation. His hourly labor only rate worked out to be $450 per hour not including parts/material. The plumber walked away with a 35-40% commission in addition to his hourly pay. Affordable is not so affordable and foolishly lost me as a customer with 27 rental properties. Fortunately, I found another plumbing company who is more responsive, more reasonable and a lot more professional. Thanks for making me look for a new plumbing company.

I had three slab leaks in the past 40+ years and very familiar with them as well as the costs. First, Affordable 's leak detection equipment was broken so it cost me $225 to have Precision Detection company come out and identify the location of the leak. The $225 included cutting the sheetrock to expose the pipes for the plumber. Second, the plumber showed up four hours late because he was held up with problems from his last job. Third, instead of jackhammering the concrete in the garage to repair the leak which is a much more labor intensive job it was determined that it would be better to tap into the hot pipe above the water heater and run a flexible line up through the attic across 10-15 feet and down the wall which I agreed with. I fully support this method and have no doubt it was the best method to use. I have used Affordable for a couple of years for all the plumbing needs for multiple rentals and never had a problem with them or their service. They do good work and are polite. The plumber quoted me $1575 to do the job and I accepted it because I had a new tenant moving in the next day and had to have hot water before move in. I knew $1575 was high, but did not have much choice because I needed it repaired that day. What I consider in poor taste is the whole job took less then three hours which came to $450 per hour for labor alone. Unfortunately, this is a commission driven company and the plumber quoting the job receives a commission of 35-40% of the labor. After the plumber was finished I paid $185 to have the drywall patched. I have no problem paying $100 per hour for plumbing services, but $450 per hour is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the amount of the commission is to enticing to resist, and overrides the long term repeat business with multiple properties.

I can’t say enough good things about this company & plumber, Ben. We needed a plumber to assist with our guest bath renovation. Ben came highly recommended by a neighbor and so we called. Happily, he not only met our needs, he exceeded them. He brought in-depth experience and expertise to the job and he was punctual and pleasant. He talked us through our options and offered information to assist our decisions. His charges were disclosed up front, and he even came in under his quote. In the end, we got a beautiful and perfectly functioning bath. We also found the office staff easy to do business with. This is the only company I will use in the future.

The master bath water heater was sending signals that the time for replacement was imminent. After much research and questioning of plumbers, I decided on Affordable Plumbing. I have not been disappointed. Ron was punctual and did a neat installation. He installed a drain pan which was missing from the previous tank and routed the drain pipe out the wall and sealed it with caulk. He replaced the hot and cold water lines, the shut off valve and tied the flue pipe into the HVAC flue with the appropriate upward slope. At my request, he also looked over the placement of the other water tank and opined that when that goes he will be able to get a new tank into what is a very tight space. No doubt that I will use him again.

They did a good job.  The price was good. The work was done well. I have no complaints. I was pretty satisfied.

I have used Affordable Plumbing for a couple of years on several properties and was happy with the work of Ben and Curtis. In the beginning my goal was to establish a reliable plumbing company to take care of all my plumbing needs on a regular basis. Recently, I had Curtis do a small re-pipe for a hot water line in a garage for $1550. No jack hammering, no digging in the mud, just cutting into the sheetrock and connecting a new flexible line from the water heater up through the garage ceiling and connecting it to the hot water line approximately 10 feet away bypassing the leak under the slab. All work was done in the garage. Unfortunately, I had a tenant moving in the next day and had to have the job done before move in or I would have gathered other bids. I had to pay a leak detection company $225 for their services (Precision did a great job locating the pipes, and determining exactly where the leak was located) when the plumber should have provided the service. The charge of $1550 works out be about $450+ per hour for 3 hours of labor and $200 for parts. In addition, I had to pay a drywall contractor $185 to repair the holes left in the walls. I've been in the R/E business for over 40 years and the commission driven pricing scale practiced and encouraged by Affordable Plumbing is unacceptable. I am not criticizing the work, but the breakdown of the commission driven hourly rate of $450 per hour. Fortunately, I now use a reputable company that charges a flat $90 per hour.

Could not have gone any better. What I thought would take several hours (at best) took less than 2. One of my major concerns was a master shower, which was leaking badly and was running only hot water. Ben Franklin plumbing wanted $600+, several days, and to tear out the wall to get to the cartridge. Affordable Plumbing did it in minutes and without any destruction of said wall required. I've had Affordable Plumbing on 2 occasions with 2 different professionals. Both experiences exceeded my expectations with professionalism, cost, and not trying to snowball me into buying something I didn't need. I am not a plumber but both times I had a full understanding of the problem and to the service being performed and WHY it was necessary. Affordable Plumbing will remain my go-to for future plumbing needs.

Our experience with this company has been outstanding. Ben came out on short notice, and was quite skilled in identifying and correcting the source of a water supply leak in our attic. He also identified that our incoming water pressure was too high, and corrected this as well. We appreciated his patience and expertise. Larry was also extremely helpful with this work. Ron's help in getting this work scheduled on such short notice was greatly appreciated as well. This seems like a terrific company with terrific people who care about their customers!

good - we continue to use them

We had new granite countertops intstalled and as such, upgraded from a 2-sink to a 1 sink system, requiring new sink hardware, etc. We also had a garbage disposal reconnected as well as a brand new still in the box RO system installed. 

Larry arrived punctually and after some questions got straight to work. The RO system was apparently new enough on the market to where he'd never seen or installed that type of system but he quickly got through it without issue. The entire job took less than 3 hours (something that probably would have taken me all day).

The price for service was pretty reasonable considering he had to use completely new hardware and basically had to rebuild/reinstall everything. Larry was extremely professional, friendly, and cordial.

Definitely will use Affordable Plumbing in the future!

We were very pleased with this company from the time I called them to arrange an appointment. We were fortunate one of their plumbers was already scheduled for our area and he arrived at our place just after noon. Ben was great! He explained the possible issues with the toilet and the potential costs involved and then quickly went about determining the actual problem. It turned out the toilet, just newly installed in 2011, had never been properly installed and there was water lying under it. He then discovered that the supply line was almost entirely clogged with sand and grit - fixed that too. After he got the toilet properly reset and running smoothly, he then flushed our hot water tank, something I had wanted done for some time. More sand and grit found and flushed! Then, because he was concerned about our relatively low flow rate, he adjusted our regulator and then even checked the water supply from the street - and found it was half-off! So he fixed that too. Much better water flow now. Ben was extremely friendly, professional and thorough in all he did for us - toilet and entire system working so much better than before. Very much appreciated his diligence and persistence in finding the problems and explaining everything as he was doing it.
