Hello my name is Travis your next handyman. I have been doing construction for over 10yrs. I was born in Wisconsin and lived there most of my life. I got tired of the cold so I moved here with the knowledge to do handyman work. I offer free estimates can do a wide range of repairs for you at a reasonable price. I have lots of tools to complete your projects in a timely manner. Some of the work that I can do is Doors, trim, flooring, backsplash, installing appliances, light fixtures, ceiling fans, faucets, toilets, plumbing repairs, hot water heaters, drywall, painting, and much more I work all over the valley 480-646-6745 Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment. Thanks for taking the time and looking over my profile! I am reliable, honest, polite, trustworthy, and I also do the work as if it was my own home. Please feel free to reach out to me and let’s work together and get things done.

"We did a walk through and I sent him a spreadsheet prior to the start date so he could be prepared upon arrival; we agreed to an hourly rate of $50. I helped him quite a bit and after seeing him struggle with simple tasks, I felt he was under qualified for these non-complex projects. -hang three blinds; contractor damaged two of the three blinds and was not able to properly shorten any of them as part of the install. I still have to hire someone else to do this. The first kitchen blind was damaged; he cut the wrong strings when shortening it, even though he was watching a youtube video to learn how to do it. Seeing him watch a youtube video was frustrating for two reasons: I had to pay for his time watching the video and it clearly told me that he was not qualified for the job. The second attempt to install the kitchen blind appeared fine, but when I raised/lowered it to test it, a string that he accidentally cut and tied (with dirty fingers so it was almost black), unraveled. So that blind had to be replaced, again. He reimbursed me for one blind and returned the second one to home depot as a "damaged blind" which I felt was a little sketchy. He charged me for the time he spent going back a second time for the second replacement blind. I told him that I was not happy that he charged me for this, since it was his mistake and he should eat the cost. -range hood, improperly installed. There are gaps that are not sealed, which are allowing air to blow back into the kitchen. This should have been fixed before the contractor left. I tested it when he was here but had no idea that there were leaks because the leaks are at the top, and rear of the hood, where you cannot see. You have to get on a step stool to see and feel the air flow. After I realized it was not done correctly, I inspected every square inch of it. It turns on, but it leaks so it's somewhat useless. Note, I drove us to home depot to get parts for this project because when he arrived, he said he was still unsure how to install it as a vented range hood. I advised that I wanted the simplest and easiest option, but prefer a vented hood. After at least an hour of him trying to figure out how to install it, we had to go to home depot because he said a part was "missing" and we need an additional part as well. After spending almost an hour at home depot, we discovered that the part was actually in the box, per one of the associates. Had he looked the box and found the part when he arrived at my house, we would not have wasted so much time (and my money) searching for a part that was already in the box. Again, I was charged for his mistake. -three exhaust fans. Unsure if these were properly installed. He took a very long time installing the first one, I had to help him quite a bit, and he left dirty hand prints on my freshly painted ceiling. With each fan, the install was from above (attic). When he installed the fan in the laundry closet, a large amount of insulation and debris fell on the washer and down the side. The insulation down the side was about 4" deep, which he did not tell me about. I was not happy to find that much debris. He made NO attempt to respect my property and either clean up that large mess, or prevent it from happening. -reposition two outlets; this went as planned. However, when I left for about 25 minutes to walk my dog on this day, and we agreed he was going to tackle a few projects while I was out, my security cameras caught him sitting down, taking a break. This was frustrating. -replace one outlet under sink; contractor did not know how to make it work/wire it properly and went to the hardware store three times to get the correct outlet, because he didn't pay attention and get the correct one the first time he went. This took at least two hours for him to figure it out, go back and forth, etc., before he actually wired the outlet. It was a simple task that he didn't seem qualified for. -fix a double tapped wire in the breaker box. The contractor agreed to fix this and reposition the two outlets when I stepped out for 25 minutes to walk my dog. When I returned, he informed me that the double tapped breaker was already fixed. I didn't believe that to be true, and we walked out together to inspect it. I was correct, he overlooked the fact that it was not fixed and then proceeded to fix it. This is another example of him not either being prepared, not qualified to do simple tasks, or just lazy. Either way, he charged me for the time he spent taking a break (while I was walking my dog) instead of fixing what we discussed. Again, I have the footage of this on my security cams (him sitting down instead of working). -fix bifold door. This was done properly, from what I can see. In summary: The contractor came unprepared and overcharged me for work that took several hours longer than needed. All of his mistakes were on my "time." He also had to make several trips to the hardware store, one with me to get parts, because he was unsure how to fix certain things. He left significant "messes" behind that included a pile of insulation that fell from the ceiling in the laundry closet, next to my washer (insulation was approximately 4" deep) while he was replacing the exhaust fan. He left dirty handprints on my freshly painted ceilings in the bathrooms (one is worse than the other) and damaged two of my blinds. He reimbursed me for one, but the second one, he "tried" to hide the fact that he damaged it and returned to home depot as a damaged item in the box (meaning, he lied to home depot, saying that it came damaged, which was a lie). His work was not quality and at least one project is not completed, with the remaining projects needing to be double checked for proper install. I felt he worked slowly for the sake of working slowly (to charge me more). When we discussed the bill, I let him know how displeased I was with him for overcharging me and if he came back to do more work, I would NOT agree to this type of payment arrangement."

Schwarder Construction is a general contracting company with a highly skilled team of management, craftsmen and sub contractors. Our team of professionals will meet all your needs from planning, renovations and building new residential and commercial buildings. We know how important it is to stay within the budget, provide quality work in a timely manner.

"I cannot say enough about Aaron Schwarder and Schwarder Construction. We bought a home that had not been updated since 1964. Plumbing included. Aarons crews redid both baths and the kitchen. Beautiful bright Carrera look tile, white counter tops, beadboard, wainscoting. New light and plumbing fixtures. Kitchen went from dark and cave like with fluorescent lights in plexiglass recessed ceiling thing, to raised ceiling, high end appliances, beadboard cabinets and an open to the dining room floor plan. Aaron was not satisfied with the cabinet surfaces and repainted them himself. All custom cabinets. Very important to me is the comfort level of having people working in my home. It can be awkward, to say the least. Aaron's guys are very respectful and always clean up at the end of the day, even if they are coming back in the morning. They were very careful not to let the animals escape. Recently I called the home depot pro desk with some questions about installing a new entry door and the first name they gave me was Schwarder Construction. I was raised to believe that a man's word is his worth. You can take Aaron at his word. 5 stars only because you cannot rate higher."

Ceramic tile services FAQs

The average cost of installing tile is around $2,000, ranging between $400 and $6,500, depending on the type of tile, square footage of tile, and whether or not your tiling contractor performs site preparation, like removing old tile. On average, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 per square foot, largely depending on the type and quality of the tiles you choose. For example, ceramic and travertine tile cost about $1 per square foot, but luxury tile options like marble cost up to $350 per square foot, not including labor.

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost the value of your home. Tile is a highly durable and attractive building material, and savvy buyers will know they’re getting a low-maintenance flooring or wall covering that can last for 75 years or more. Keep in mind that the return on investment from tiling your bathroom will likely be higher if a professional tile installer does the work. Tiling is a complicated job, and mistakes will be very evident and detract from the appearance and value of the finished work.

On average, you can expect the tiling in your bathroom to take around 12 hours, usually spread over at least two to three days. The process can take longer if your tile installer needs to remove old tile first. Tiling a floor takes around six hours, and tiling the shower area often takes six to 10 hours. Some factors that affect the length of the project include the type of tile, the layout of your bathroom, and any prep work that your installer needs to do beforehand. It’s best to have an alternate bathroom available during the process.

Tile will almost always last longer than laminate flooring, regardless of the type of tile installed. Porcelain tile can last for 75 years or more with proper care, and even less durable ceramic tile will last for 60 years or more, provided they’re installed by a tile professional. On the other hand, laminate flooring has an average lifespan of around 20 years, and you might only get 10 to 15 years out of low-cost laminate flooring. As such, tile will add far more value to your home than laminate.

To find a local tile installer, your first step is to connect with professionals in your area and interview them. Ask the following questions to get a sense of their experience and ability:

  • How many years have you been in business?

  • Do you have a list of references I can contact?

  • What materials—tile, thinset, and mortar—will you use?

  • Does your pricing include materials and labor?

  • How long will my bathroom or kitchen be out of commission while you work?

Then, compare prices to find the best value for your investment.
