Small jobs welcome

"Dustin and his team were EXCELLENT! He was a great communicator and always replied quickly to any question that I had. He showed up every day and they always worked for a full day! They began and finished the project in the promised time frame. When there were changes to the project he adjusted the needed materials list and his team adjusted to the scope of the project without spiking the cost of the bid. The finish product was FANTASTIC! I would hire him again for any project that we are working on! (His team did demolition of 700sqft, framing, insulation of cinderblock walls, textured and smooth sheetrock installed and finished.)"

"Very well. I dealt directly with Steven, the owner. He was always timely and always did what he said. If he said he would call on a certain date, he called even if he had not yet obtained the information discussed (there were others who failed to make return calls even though they assured me they would). I had been told that the door could not be repaired and must be replaced, which would have been quite costly. Steven stuck with me and came up with a creative and affordable repair solution. In addition, he was willing to stick by his estimate even though more work was required than he initially thought. I paid him the extra to ensure that he was fairly compensated, but he would have graciously accepted the estimate he had given. He was professional, nice and did a quality job. I would definitely use him again."

"Exceptional integrity. Personable. Knowledgeable. Reliable. Prompt. Kind and honest, I’ll hire these guys again. My job was to gut the entire floor decking and all. The house is 80 years old and the job was challenging. I watched them check for termite and water damage and replaced as needed. These guys pulled it off without a hitch."

"We purchased ceramic tile through Lowe's in Rogers, AR and we used their installation company.  Their installer promptly contacted us the following day and sent out someone to measure the floor space two days later.  We then received a call on 9/3/13 and scheduled installation for Thursday, 9/5/13.   One issue we did have was at 7:30 pm we received a call saying they would like to reschedule the installation for the following Monday.  Luckily, my wife took this call.  I had just spent the past two evenings packing up bookcases, moving furniture into my garage, dining room and kitchen.  In addition, I also removed the carpet and tack strips.  When the call came I was down to two pieces of furniture left to move.  The person from the installation company said they would call us right back.  No call back that night.  Bright and early on Thursday 9/5/13, the owner called and after apologizing profusely said he would have the installer there at 12 noon.
James to the rescue!  The installer was James Moeller.  He arrived at noon, introduced himself, produced identification and copies of his installation certifications.  Then he went to work.  By time I got home that night, he had finished both hallways and was working on the family room floor.  He stayed until 9 pm to finish the family room.  James was meticulous.  He continually checked the alignment of the tile.  James returned at 8 am on Friday morning.  He grouted the family room, both hallways and layed the tile in the living room.  When I returned home from work around 6 pm, James was finishing up and said he would return on Saturday.  We told him he could finish on Monday if he preferred.  He returned on Monday, finished grouting the living room and installed quarter-round.
The floor looked great.  James was thorough, polite and cleaned up each day before leaving.  I would highly recommend James.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

Porcelain tiles can last 60 years or longer. With high-quality tiles and proper installation, your porcelain tiles may even outlive you, making them well worth the initial investment.

To help your porcelain tiles last longer, you should clean and maintain them regularly. You don’t need any harsh chemicals to get the job done. Rather, use a cloth, hot water, and mild detergent. And don’t forget to learn how to clean floor tile grout, as that’s just as important as tile maintenance.

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

You should always use caulk instead of grout where the tile meets the wall. This will help your tile installation look great and last a long time. When you accidentally use grout for the corner seams, you end up making the tiles too rigid. So as the wall shifts over time, your tiles have no wiggle room. This can lead to tile damage, which will eventually require you to do at least a partial reinstallation.
