"He hung barn doors. He even added some additional custom touches. May sure to double check work after completion. The front of two doors were painted but he refused to paint the back of those same doors."

"The 2 individuals were professional starting with their initial assessment visit. Their projections that referenced necessary materials and time requirements were amazingly accurate which was important to me as I truly wanted the project to be completed in a timely fashion. They accomplished that as promised. They arrived early each day and worked late on most instances. Most important and pleasing for me was their craftmanship. They displayed a total knowledge of my requirements for perfect mitered cuts on each board as EVERY board on my deck consists of 45 degree mitered cuts. The gentlemrn are the eal deal. They are on my forever list. I am very satisfied."

"Braden was professional, explained exactly what he would do on my project. He was diligent in contacting me regarding the paint color I requested and applied 2 coats. He repaired the support beams as well as replacing the boards that were in need of replacing on top of the deck and lattice work at the base. I will recommend him & request Mr. Melton to do future jobs."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Using a steel frame may raise the value of your home. Steel is more heat resistant, has better longevity, and doesn’t need any upkeep compared to traditional wood. You can also customize a steel build a little easier than other materials like brick, concrete, and vinyl—which have trouble bending and adapting to renovations.

You can enclose an open carport, however, there are several things to consider before opting to do so. You'll want to check local building codes and permit requirements before proceeding to make sure it’s legal. While you can sometimes stick-frame a carport enclosure, pre-fab kits are also available. Remember that you'll likely need to meet concrete slab regulations and provide lighting inside the structure. Both of which could substantially drive up costs.

It’s best to use two screws to secure deck boards into every joist. Securing the boards to every joist makes the deck more structurally sound, while using two screws on the outer sides of the boards can help prevent warping and cupping.

By careful planning and reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.
