"Very fast response of which I appreciated. The workers were fast but quality was somewhat sloppy. They cleaned up after the work only partially and left nails on my driveway. They were nice though. I might use them in the future."

"Prime Management did an excellent job remodeling our front porch. They completed it within the time they said they would, and cleaned up completed after themselves. Their price was very competitive and their service and quality exceeded the price we paid. We were so satisfied with the work they did we are now considering remodeling the back porch with them as well. They made sure we were completely satisfied before leaving on the last day of work with a final walk through."

"Excellent, very pleased with the whole experience. Great crew, very polite and friendly. Jackson was outstanding. Returned all my texts and calls. No surprises, what was quoted is what we paid. This company will be our go to for all our repairs, remodeling and anything else that may come up. Recommend to everyone I know."

"Mr Webb's work is very good and my wife and I are very pleased with his work, cost and work time.  We have used Complete Home Repair for several small repairs this year and have always been very pleased.  He shows up when he says he will and gets the job done.  So when we planned this latest project, we did not hesitate to call them and in fact did not even think about any one else.
We have in mind some other projects around here and will certainly call them first.  We found Complete Home Repair on Angie's list and have even found others for HVAC etc.

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

Costs are guided by renovation scope, materials chosen, project duration, structural needs, and labor. Prioritizing tasks prevents unforeseen expenses.

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line. If a line backed up, it would back up into the toilet because it was the lowest fixture in the home, keeping it out of sight and away from the finished areas of the house.

Basement toilets were also used by workers with messy jobs, like those who worked in coal mines or steel mills. This way, they could clean up and avoid tracking dirt through their home.

Common mistakes when finishing basement walls include neglecting proper insulation, insufficient moisture management, and poor ventilation. Not addressing these issues can lead to mold growth, water damage, and discomfort. Additionally, inadequate planning, improper framing, and rushing the project can result in subpar outcomes.

It's essential to follow best practices, seek professional guidance if needed, and prioritize thoroughness and attention to detail.

Yes, in most cases, finishing a basement is worth the cost. The project adds valuable, usable square footage to your home and typically provides a return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 75%. For example, an average basement refinishing project costing $32,000 could add between $22,400 and $24,000 to your property's value. The final value added depends on factors like your location, the quality of materials and workmanship, and the features you include, such as a living space, bedroom, or bathroom. To be officially counted in your home's total square footage, the finished space must comply with all local building codes, including requirements for points of egress. However, in areas prone to flooding, a finished basement might be seen as a liability by potential buyers and could potentially decrease your home's value.

Physically, the most challenging part of finishing a basement is installing egress windows or doors when the space is below ground level. Mentally, the hardest part may be envisioning the project and planning around load-bearing and mechanical obstacles.
