"When J. chandler and helper started setting up, they opened the trailer ramp and one cable to the ramp was not connected to the drum, making it a tripping hazard, they secured the cable under the ramp and continued to download the hopper. The wheels on the hopper appeared to have a bent axle as the wheels were on a 30 ~ 40 degree angle most likely to being subject to overweight condition in the past. They were having trouble putting the hopper into my garage as the 1 1/2 inch step was too much for the hopper to overcome. I gave them 2 plastic angle blocks to be able to navigate the step with their hopper. They commenced working and shortly after they started J. Chandler was in the attic and the helper asked me if I had a stick for him to break up the insulation so the hopper could blow it into the attic. I gave him a walking stick so he could complete his task. They were definitely not prepared to professionally complete the task. When they finished and told me they could not access the attic. I couldn’t believe he didn’t advise me of that condition 10 days earlier when he gave me the quote. I discussed this with the previous home owner and she provided me a statement of work from 6/26/2017 reflecting R38 blanket and batt insulation, 14 3/4 inches thick was installed. I perceive I have been ripped off!"

These two types of foams are similar chemically, but they are applied in a much different way and each has its own pros and cons. The life span of insulation is between 20 and 100 years. At that time, existing insulation can fall victim to gravity, resulting in compression, which reduces its insulating protection or R-value. If you can't simply add more insulation over the existing material, removing the old to increase the effectiveness of the new can reduce your energy bills and make the project worth the time and money investment.

As long as a licensed professional installs your gas lines, you don’t have to do anything extra to prepare for cold weather. If there are pipes that require a wrap, your installer should have done it for you already. If you want to be absolutely sure your gas system is good to go for winter, the best option is to schedule a gas line inspection.
