"Service went really well. Blake and his team arrived earlier than expected and started working in the yard right away. He cleared out several trees and bushes that were overgrown, as well as knocking down a damaged greenhouse that we no longer needed. His prices were reasonable and we are satisfied of his work. Would definitely hire again for another job and in the future."

"Hales Professional tree service did a phenomenal job for our family. They protected our yard from ruts and ground up the stumps and raked and leveled the ground and did a perfect job for us at a fair price."

"Today is the 3rd time Jon Presley came to the rescue when our trees needed to be cut down. What a pleasure it is to work with him and his grandson. Of course, I will use them again and their prices are reasonable. Today I had two trees cut down and several others trimmed back to protect the roof. They did all that, cleaned up well, and even blew the driveway and my front porch. They left my home in better shape than they found it. I can't possibly say enough good things about the work they do. ."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out. You can have stumps professionally removed, or request a service to grind them down to ground level so they can be replaced with other landscaping or objects.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

Signs include dead branches, growth over structures, diseases, pests, or roots impacting hardscapes.

Yes, it is essential to confirm that any tree service company you hire is properly insured before they begin work. Tree removal, trimming, and pruning are dangerous jobs, and proper insurance protects you, your home, and the company from liability in case of accidents or damage. Look for a company that carries both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and do not hire one that cannot provide proof of coverage. When browsing for professionals, you can look for indicators like an “Angi Approved” badge, which signifies that the business meets standards like holding applicable licenses and passing a background check. Keep in mind that a license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are typically voluntary.

If your palm tree has spots on the leaves, rotting buds, or is beginning to turn yellow, then you have a sick tree on your hands. You should contact a palm tree specialist to identify the problem and help treat the tree if possible. Preventing diseases and pests is key to a healthy palm tree, and it's essential to take action as soon as possible if your tree is showing signs of being sick.
