"We hired Fitzsimmons Heating and Air to install a few new pendant lights in our kitchen. The gentlemen that arrived were very prompt and professional. They did their work quickly and neatly and cleaned up after they were done. We have since hired them to do some additional work. Great Service! Highly recommended!"

"He was awesome! Did extra work for me that your traditional HVAC company wouldn't do to get us up and running. Saved us from having to call a carpenter before we could fix the problem. I now have signed up for maintenance contract with him. I highly recommend him to anyone!"

"We couldn’t have been more pleased with the level of professionalism used by DayCool as a whole! As new residents to Alabama, we were apprehensive about looking for a company we could trust. After looking for several companies and having multiple come out for estimates on a unit replacement, we decided on Day Cool because of the owner’s down to earth speaking style and breaking it down for HVAC-challenged! We bought a unit from them which they warrantied AND an air scrubber...I think that’s the name...it’s already working! Best decision we’ve made for our family of four and one pup! I’m super excited! Thank you to the team that came out today! They worked all day in our house after arriving promptly! The staff on the phone was also very hospitable and accommodating! Thanks, DayCool! You’ve got my business!"

"It went really well. I called them about some units at my beach house and they came out the same day (about four hours after I called them). They performed a tune-up on all my air conditioning units. They found nothing wrong, but I noticed that the units seem to run better and blow colder now."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.

If your AC unit isn’t cooling and you haven’t figured out why, there are a few good reasons to turn it off ASAP. The source of the issue, whether that be leaking refrigerant or a broken compressor, will worsen and cause more damage to the overall unit the longer the machine is allowed to run. When in doubt, shut it down until you or an AC pro can ensure everything is working properly.

You need to know the square footage of your home first. Multiply that number by 20, which will get you the BTUs (British Thermal Units) needed to cool your home efficiently. Homes up to 1,000 square feet usually need a 1.5-ton unit; homes 1,000 to 1,200 square feet usually need a 1.75-ton unit, and homes 1,200 to 1,400 square feet usually need a 1.9-ton unit. Talk to a local pro for more specific advice on your home.

Yes, through thorough cleaning and inspection, optimizing functionality, and reducing energy use.

Water buildup in your HVAC system is a cause for alarm. If water accumulates in your ductwork, it can drastically lower your home's air quality and create safety hazards. These risks include mold growth, damage to your HVAC system, and attracting pests that are seeking water into your ducts. Proper insulation and sealing of ducts can prevent this, and regular inspection and maintenance can address water damage problems before they become too severe.
