"(removed member name), The reason we decided discontinue servicing your home was due to the manner in which you treated our employees, in particular our service manager that you called a "liar." I can assure you that we pride ourselves in doing things the right way and we aren't in the business of cheating people or lying. In our 50 years of business, we have kept hundreds and hundreds of families comfortable, with a vast majority of them extremely satisfied in our work. If we recommended and quoted replacing your system, it needed to be replaced. We don't recommend things to customers only to "increase our profitability." As for the complaints: 1) We do hate to see systems fail prematurely, but it does happen. Like any machinery (vehicle, lawn mower, refrigerator, etc), things tend to happen that are out of our control and sometimes they fail earlier than expected. 2) Carrier's warranty covers all parts, compressor included, for 10-years. This does not include labor, materials, or refrigerant. The price we charged is from an industry standard "flat-rate" book. 3) Our service technichian did not put the compressor "blanket" back on the new compressor because they have been known to trap moisture and cause the compressor to rust. Their purpose is to reduce noise, but they are actually not very helpful. It is not vital or even helpful for the system's performance, efficency, or lifespan. However, after you expressed concern about it, we got a new compressor blanket and attempted several times to schedule with you a time to come install it. 4) The wires. The wire in question is a low-voltage wire that connects the outdoor and indoor equipment to the thermostat. Our service technichian noticed the outer plastic coating was damaged upon arrival. This is common, as they often get nicked by weedeaters and the like. However, the actual wire was not damaged at all, only the outer thin plastic coating or insulation. It was not necessary to replace the entire wire from inside to out, as (again) the wire itself was not damaged. So, our tech, like any other tech, simply wrapped it with electrical tape. This was not a "rig" job as you stated in the BBB complaint, as there was nothing technically wrong with the actual wire. Secondly, the damage to the outer coating of the wire was not our fault. The wire in no way, shape, or form needed to be replaced at your cost or ours. It is unfortunate that this business relationship has come to this point because we pride ourselves in making people happy and keeping families comfortable. We often get letters or messages praising our technician's or installer's work, very rarely get letters of dissatisfaction. We have no problems going above and beyond normal expectations to keep a customer happy, but when a customer is rude and condescending to our employees, as in this case, we decide to sever ties. Best Wishes, Brent Keith"
