"They came and did a good job at the price quoted, finished in a timely manner. One major problem, the expansion joints were cracking with in one hour after the pour., because the fill dirt was not compacted before the pour,the driveway now has long cracks forming perpendicular ( right down the middle) to the expansion joints. If you use them make sure they are not skipping this essential step to compact the substrate, once you pour it is too late. I had Sal come back and see what was happening and he offered no remedy, just said it will be ok. The new driveway is not even 6 months old. I stayed off of it for 7 days as recommended while it was curing. Buyer beware."

"Subcontractors were mostly good, but management of them was lacking. I had to personally supervise them because the on site contractor rarely stayed very long. Told the trim finish crew to leave because they did not know how to install crown molding. Got another crew that knew what they were doing. They never asked for periodic payments during the job (as is typical); presented one huge bill at the end. Holland homes builds nice homes, but I would not recommend them for small jobs like mine because you do not get the best crews and you have to wait for them to fit you into their schedule."

Sealcoating is worth the investment because it protects your driveway from damage, extending its life and the timeframe in which you need to replace it. Sealcoating costs around $500 on average, while replacing a driveway costs about $5,000. Sealcoating delays the need for replacement and it also helps keep your driveway looking newer for longer. As an added bonus, sealcoating can boost your property value and curb appeal, making it worth the sealing cost once every five years.

Costs depend on the extent of damage, material costs, labor, and whether resurfacing is needed.

Ideally, you should seal your driveway when there won’t be rain for several days, but at a minimum, there can’t be rain for at least 24 hours. If it rains shortly after you seal your driveway, the water can wash away the sealer and render your work useless. You’ll have to wait for your driveway to dry out and try applying again. Note that some sealers—like oil-based sealers or specialty fast-drying sealers—may cure faster. Unlike drying, which takes between 48 and 72 hours on average, asphalt driveway cure times are different and take much longer. Your asphalt driveway won’t actually cure for around six months to one year. During this time, it’s more likely to get damaged or weakened by heavy machinery, vehicles, and high temperatures. 

Hot-pour sealants have an asphalt cement base that might also include rubber and other materials to allow the seal to flex in hot or cold temperatures. Asphalt emulsion sealants are not heated but are liquid applications that use water and an emulsifying agent to allow the asphalt and water to mix.
