I do not do handyman or “do-it-yourself” construction activities or quality of any kind, unless you want to pay a pro for handyman repairs… my time and recommendations are extremely experienced, well versed, insured, and valuable.. phone consultations are free.. job site visits outside of anchorage are refundable $55 fee if you contract me.. local site visits are free, unless your project requires extensive planning or permitting.. I am also willing to spend an hour with you sharing my extensive knowledge on any construction questions or issues for a $55 refundable fee.. my business invoices at $110 / hour.. remember if you ask for my services, please anticipate the experience and content of a master builder.. thank you.. John Wiggins

"Work of Art Drywall was a fantastic choice for our remodel project. Our home, a 1941 gem, needed a complete overhaul. John was a pleasure to work with and was able to break down the project into manageable phases. A remodel such as this can be somewhat overwhelming. He made the process manageable and we are now living in an amazing space!"

Modular and Mobile Home Remodel questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals offer mantel and surround customization for aesthetic appeal.

Adding a mudroom is one of the most budget-friendly home additions compared to other projects, costing between $8,000 and $16,000 on average. Not only is the room often quite small, but it also requires minimal fixtures or wiring to make the room practical. The most costly features include a weatherproof floor and an exterior door.

While the terms renovation and remodel are sometimes used interchangeably, there are significant differences. A renovation updates or restores features in a home without making significant structural changes, leaving existing layouts intact. Conversely, a remodel often involves structural changes that dramatically alter layouts, like removing walls to create an open kitchen.

Because of their lack of curb appeal compared to other home styles and specific interior motifs, split-level homes are not as popular. Because of the many staircases, they don’t always make a suitable home for people as they age. Also, the way their space is divided up leads to less space available for a full primary bedroom.

Mid-century modern and farmhouse design are similar in that they focus on simple yet beautiful design, but the difference is that mid-century modern tends to include bolder colors and more striking furniture design. You’ll see more geometric shapes and curves in furniture with mid-century modern and a more rustic, rigid look with farmhouse design that feels a bit less playful. Farmhouse design also lends itself more to neutral colors and earthy tones, while mid-century modern can also include bold yellows, oranges, greens, and reds.
